Pardon my French, then you're both part of the fucking problem. As Bernstein you might say, "you can't be this dense, can you? Really?"

NOBODY here has argued that Bob doesn't enjoy and/or rely on calling into the show on a weekly basis - if you're truly dumb enough to look at it as "ahhhh, c'mon, the old guy likes it - he doesn't seem to mind the laughing" then you might as well send away for your B&B ALS windbreaker. Just send a self addressed envelope to Schmutzie, he'll take care of the rest.

Jesus, now I understand why so many people are ok with this bit - child-like rationalization of "Bob likes it = ok to do what they do". Barf.

I'm no fan of the bit to be sure, but I don't think it takes half the insight you claim to possess to realize that instead of calling others names ... others that are far from dense btw ... perhaps it's time for you to play everybody's favorite game, "shit or get off the pot" ... get your letter written - a letter whose purpose of composition is ostensibly to bring about Bob's salvation as quickly as possible - and then actually sent to Mitch, or Rod, or CBS, or Santa Claus, or whoever.

You're a prick. And dense.

So let's resort to name calling...bully. How's the view from that high horse?
If someone doesn't realize they are being bullied, are they being bullied?

To be fair, I don't listen to the segment because it bothers me on many different levels. So, I choose to punch the button. However, having grown up with an autistic brother and experiencing "ridicule" directly my perspective is practically unexplainable.

Besides, how do any of you know what the fuck Bob is actually thinking, what he clearly knows, or doesn't know?

Just to throw this out there, does anyone know if this is a bit or not? The segment is dumb, but contacting "authorities" is just silly.

I learned, from Don Tiny himself, that's what you're supposed to do. Unless you're saying that Don Tiny has dementia or some other ailment...in that case, I apologize. I'll end the bit immediately.

It's silly? Really? So continuing to (in your opinion, "possibly") mock an senior on air, and literally turn it into a weekly bit where the hosts giggle like school children as the confused caller stumbles through movie reviews and slices of pie is GOOD? No one should say anything? If there's nothing wrong with it, why isn't station management responding to concerns?

Also, I did preemptively address the "it's just a bit - Bob is actually a performance artist" angle in my missives. Let's say it is a bit - or, let's just discount Bob completely - are we saying that it's good for a high wattage radio station is airing, weekly, a segment that not only promotes that it's cool to mock/ridicule seniors....but presents it as a HILARIOUS thing to do. Hell, it's so much fun that you should create a twitter account that posts 11,000 times as "Bob". LOLOLOLOL

All I'm saying is that it's gross that these guys find this to be great comedy fodder - whether or not Bob enjoys the calls. They hang up on people who ask them "how are you guys", so I guess it's not shocking that the one guy they DO let through (that doesn't parrot their thoughts back to them) is turned into a weekly produced bit. I've seen state vehicles with "end senior abuse" on them - it's ironic that you can hear the promotion of it, every Friday, in your car on The Score.

I curious Harry...why does this bother to the point of trying to end the segment on Bob's behalf?

Well, I doubt the Score is running the Bob Twitter account, but they've certainly allowed him to be put on display and made sport of, including by whichever listener does run it.

Well that's kind of the point of picking on a guy like Bob, he's an easy target. If you called in to B&B regularly and they laughed at you and played silly drops over your conversation you would probably stop calling in, you might even say something about it. They're taking advantage of the fact that Bob is a fan and quite apparently not all there.

You may not deem it worthy of crusade but I think we can all agree that laughing at the elderly for being elderly is just gross.

Yes, it's silly.

There's a group of people here that feel somewhat enraged or wronged by something Bernstein may have done to an elderly person. I would say just change the channel, but all of these people in a 10 page thread claim they are not listening.

Contact the sponsors of the show that you don't listen to if you are so enraged. Don't waste the state's money reporting them to some agency.

Stop laughing at him. Stop calling him "a thing". He's a human being that, unless he is a performance artist, clearly does not know that they're laughing AT him and his confusion. That's your dad, how do you feel about the bit Doug? Do you like it, because Dad enjoys calling in and talking to his friends? Is it hilarious when he earnestly asks them to come to his cookout, and they giggle and say they have other plans?

I'm not necessarily out to bullet the segment, but I have a feeling that if their feet are held to the fire to actually treat Bob like a person - they'll probably just move on.

To me it's just a gross display of humanity. Cloaking their exploitation of him with the "well, he's the one calling in" is disgusting to me. Again, I imagine Bob as my dad or uncle or grandfather, and I'd be pretty pissed.............just as I imagine, if two radio jackoffs were doing this to his dad, Dan would be.

You're right, silly.

The state spends money on bumper stickers reminding people to "end senior abuse", I hardly think I'm derailing the well run machine by having some pencil pusher add this to their agenda for 2 minutes.

Douchebag, as I asked Doug, is this whole thing "silly" if it's your dad (in Bob's current mental state) calling in?

Yep, still silly.

Well, to me it's painful to imagine these clowns treating my dad the way they treat Bob.

I'm all for fun and game and stupidity and silliness, I really am, but this bit has increasingly just maddened me. I tried getting in touch with station management, and Dan, first...nobody replied. Hell, you can see in the Bob thread that others tried as well. They're not interested in discussing it.

So douchebag or whomever might claim this is "silly", but when it comes down to it I think that a decent way of looking at things is putting yourself in that person's shoes - or, in this case, imagining the oft-times confused old man named Bob as your dad. Would I like it if I found out that some radio show took his calls into the station and turned it into a bona fide produced bit? No, it would make me angry.

It's similar to the story about the idiots being "friends" with the disabled kids, just so they could guffaw at things they said...and how they said them. Sure it's not their responsibility to make sure Bob doesn't call in and stammer through a call, but if they're going to take the call and put it on the air they could simply treat the guy with some GD respect.......not turn it into a weekly carnival where they laugh as Bob seems to ignore their questions, giggle as he invites them over to his facility or to his church, and then "hilariously" tries to say goodbye to him so they can hurry up and do a mashup of his confused "movie reviews" for the next hour's bumper.

It's just all so ironic as Dan has taken this from a goofy sports show to a place where he serves as a beacon, to man, on important topics....unless he's busy exploiting a seemingly nice old man.

It's fine that Douchebag would be "fine" if Bob were his dad, I just think that a lot of (if not most) people, if they took the time to consider it, wouldn't appreciate Dan condescendingly talking to their dad, on a weekly basis, so he could hilariously get him to say "8 pieces of pie" on a 1-5 scale.

I'm helping Bob by bitching about things on the internet and threatening to write a sternly-worded letter of some indiscriminate form and fashion. I mean, no, I'm not actually doing anything productive, but I'm clearly morally superior! It reminds me of this time I was trying to hire a rickshaw in Pago Pago, .......

Is anyone upset about Mike in Milwaukee and that weekly crapfest? It's pretty clear that dude has a serious problem.

I'm pretty sure all of the "It's Friday, Friday" stuff consisted of Mike in MKE, Bob, and Gary for like...4 years. It's the same bit anyway. Once they hang up, poke fun for 30 seconds. None of this is new.

Mike doesn't give a shit that they make fun of him. Gary never did. And we can easily suggest that Bob likely doesn't care either. If they are(were) happy with their niche, let them be happy with it.

Four years? Two at the absolute most; the old "Friday I'm In Love" open was mostly about making fun of Score co-workers.
