Am I the only one that enjoys a good hamburger/cheeseburger over a good steak? It seems like most people talk about steak like it is the pinnacle of meat eating. I'd also probably take most things on a good bbq menu over a steak. It always feels strange when I'm out and everyone is getting a $35 cut of meat and I'm looking at the $14 cheeseburger thinking I'd enjoy it more.

To think about it, I love steak burritos and steak tacos, so maybe I just want a little bit more variety.

brick, i'm worried about you dude. unless this is some sort of out-n-out sarcastic pandering, this is definitely some sort of compromise in your character that essentially amounts to you starting to become a salt-of-the-earth man-of-the-people.

if you continue down this dark path next thing you know you're going to say things like "you know, i've come around on public transportation. if you can get up and back to your destination without having to do that much walking i've found that bus rides give you a chance to be a more active participant in society, if not also giving you a chance to sit back and kick your feet up while reading a good book instead of dealing with the grind of driving"

don't go there, brick. think about all the children who will grow up thinking that section 8 housing is cooler than ivory towers because of all the fun people they'll encounter every day in section 8! DON'T LET THOSE KIDS DOWN RICK!

Nope. I'm the same way. I have to be in the mood for steak. I don't ever crave it.

Steak can be great, but amateurs can screw that shit up and then it is just mediocre. Burgers over steak, most of the time, IMO.

I would rather have a good cheeseburger over steak as well.

But would take a good prime rib over anything else!

I have never thought about it but I'm with BRick on this one. A good grilled burger is awesome. Plus I could eat grilled burgers just about every day. Don't think I could do that with steak.

I was craving a Trader Joe's ribeye last night actually. Picked one up and grilled it. Delicious. I can see where you're coming from BRick, but give me steak over a burger any day.

Random dude backyard grilling...I'll usually take a hamburger (eww @ cheeseburgers) over a steak. I don't trust many people with steak. I don't trust many restaurants with steak.

I hate steak and love burgers. If we are at a steakhouse I usually order the scallops, shrimp, or crab. If there is nothing like that I consider it a shitty steakhouse.

Lets just start with the fact a burger is a bad steak ground up, that needs cheese and condiments.

The chuck steak or now some say semi hipstered up to the Denver steak! Is the basis of the burger, with more fat added.

Good Steak > Good Burger.

Now, this does not mean I dont like a burger and if you have the ability to grind your own meat ( ) go with some short rib and brisket meat for a burger, thats some good stuff.

Maybe 30 years ago. I cannot remember the last one I had that wasn't flavorless in and of itself, which should be damnably impossible with a pork product.

Another food item that can be great, but can also be easily ruined by an incompetent cook.

The Burger Barge does a good burger but I'll take a steak 100% of the time.

I don't agree. I'm not a great cook and I can grill them perfectly.

That is like saying the belly button is the best part of a woman. They can be very nice for sure, but without a doubt there is better.

People tend to overcook them. They are safe at medium rare 145; I like them more towards medium (150-155) followed by a rest.

Get the pork chop at Perry's. It's carved tableside and is just full of greatness.

You are either blind or out of your mind. Geez BR, I thought you were better than that.

I think Douchebag is on to something here...a steak done properly over a burger done properly every time, but then you get someone who decides that there can't be any pink in it whatsoever or they fucking cut into it to make sure it's cooked properly...so the burger ends up being a safer choice as far as avoiding disappointment.

Oh fuck... if you cut into your steak while cooking it, you got some big problems.
