You dont know if you've ever had a steak???

I haven't eaten beef or pork since I was 16. I can't recall if I had a steak before that.

You don't have to answer this if you find it an affront for any reason; but is it for religious reasons, or just a personal choice?

Personal choice. Young Nas read a lot of "different" books as a kid and after getting sick while working at McDonald's I decided to cut a few things out of my diet.

You have seen videos of where chicken comes from right? No skin off my back but if I had an issue with how food was made I would only eat like nothing.

It's a lot more to it than that.

Yes. Since I have given up beef and pork I haven't vomited. Even when I have been sloppy drunk.

Edit: That's 18 years without doing something that always made me feel like I was going to die.

I'm a junk food junkie. That's my only vice. If I could kick that habit I would add a lot of years to my life. Last year I spent about $60 on Halloween candy and ate half of it in a week. I had to buy more candy to give to the kids.

I was very pleased with the ambience and cut of meat I got at the River North location.

Randomly, Tommy Lasorda was in there dining a few tables over, and after he overheard that it was my birthday, he came over and shook my hand and whipped out a baseball and signed it on the spot. He was really hamming it up, really working the room. Super nice guy in person.

Tommy goes out with a baseball in his pocket?

I kid you not, he literally grabbed it out of his pants pocket. I thought about it later, and wondered if he only had one, or how many he had in there

I don't know if he was comped, he said he was in town for his induction in the Italian American HOF

I know I've mentioned this before, but if you ever go into Higgins' Tavern on Roscoe and School, make sure to look for it on the wall. The owner, Jimmy Higgins had gotten Lasorda to pose for a picture with him, I think over in the Pink Poodle at Wrigley. He sent a copy of the picture to Lasorda and asked him to autograph it for the wall in his bar. He also enclosed a check for a hundred bucks and advised Lasorda to make it out to his favorite charity. On the wall of the bar Higgins has the letter he sent Lasorda, the autographed picture, and the cancelled check... made out to Tommy Lasorda.
