 Post subject: The Quarterback Position

It has changed. With the rules of the NFL and the athletes on offense, saying that someone "moves the offense" is meaningless. Any QB who is even mediocre should be able to move the ball between the 20's.

A quarterback really makes his hay in today's game by doing two things:

1) Not making mistakes
2) Making plays in the red zone

Anyone who can't accomplish the above two things is not an elite QB. However, "moving the ball" between the 20's should be expected pretty much every time against 90% of the defenses in the NFL. Moving the ball against a team like Seattle (in the regular season) is an accomplishment, but that's the exception.
