The great thing is that when you do run across the woman that could truly kick your ass you can always fall back on "I don't hit women."

I don't think anyone is saying they are a "morality champion" for not hitting women. But if you think knocking your wife out or punching a toddler is the moral equivalent to hitting an adult male, well I just disagree I guess.

One major different is punching a toddler has some comedic potential.

You'd think it be simple logic that hitting people with a supreme physical disadvantage is in no way equal to hitting a grown ass man but some people don't see this I guess.

So then gender doesn't really have anything to do with it. It's okay for you to crack Brittney Griner but you better not punch dan bernstein.

You'd think it's simple logic that hitting people with a supreme physical disadvantage is taking advantage of a market inefficiency, you'd be an idiot to punch a grown ass man, but some people don't see this I guess.

Isn't the entire point of hitting someone to establish a physical advantage over them? I'm not saying you should go around cracking women, but you shouldn't be cracking men either. The whole "never hit a woman" thing strikes me as patriarchal and anachronistic. From a time when women were exalted and not allowed to smoke, drink, or vote.

"Never hit a girl" was a mantra for my dad when I was growing up. My sister and I are very close in age and the little liar quickly discovered that she could abruptly end any beef by crying crocodile tears and whining, "Mom! He hit me!" That didn't work out so well for her when I figured out that if I was going to be punished I might as well get my money's worth.

My prevaricating ex-wife had me thrown in the lock-up for two days for "hitting" her. What really happened was she was drunk and trying to grab some cash out of my shirt pocket and I shoved her away and the clumsy oaf fell and called the cops. Lyin' ass bitch. That was the end of that marriage right there. I think she still wonders why I don't talk to her. The capper was that I was in the lock-up with some guys who were real wife-beating scumbags. Their wives came to the bond hearing with faces that looked like they had been run over by Mack trucks to bail these assholes out. My wife was nowhere to be found and I didn't do a damn thing to her.

I told my wife that story on our first date. She can't figure out why she went out with me a second time. She says she thought it must be the truth because a guy who really beat the shit out of his wife wouldn't tell that story at all. [Pro tip for you actual wife-beaters.] And she admits that she thought I seemed a little dangerous to begin with and that just added to my mystique.

It is actually worse than that Jorr. A wife can go to the authorities on a Monday morning being pissed about stuff and make up a story of abuse from the previous Wednesday. Does not matter if there are no bruises (never looked) or the the person in question was even home that night. Women rights hysteria makes it a thing of guilty first. Out of the house courtesy of the sheriff and not to contact in any way for 7 days until a hearing. Then it is oh never mind. I about blew my top asking why she isn't taken in for perjury and false report. Guess I never told that one. But now you know why the mistress.

Oh, I know. That's why I couldn't have gone back even if I had been so inclined. She lies again, and I'm looking at jail time. And even though the case against me was dismissed, that domestic shit stays on your record for five years. At least in Illinois.

The kid who arrested me was a young guy. He said he didn't think I hit her. There wasn't a mark on her and he could see she was boozy and I wasn't. But he told me he couldn't just let it go. He said, I'm pretty sure you didn't do anything to her, but let's say I'm wrong. I drive away and then you end up killing her later tonight. She's dead and I lose my job. I can't risk that." I understood that. He brought me a cheeseburger deluxe from Sander's to eat in the lock-up.

what's up with Chicago people ending their "i was wrongly arrested" stories with the cops buying them take-out:

Tho I could see that happening if you were at the local station house and never transferred to a central booking facility. 17th and State there's a long folding table (like the one thrown earlier in this thread) topped with white bread and baloney sandwiches (sans condiments) in the hallway between the holding cells and the booking area. You can have all the crappy white bread and baloney sandwiches you want but when you ask for TP the CO holds up the roll and asks "how many pieces?"

I'm guessing the don't usually have Sunday night guests in the Skokie lock-up. They figured they had to feed me something. And Sanders' was open and close.

On another occasion I spent a night in the lock-up at 51st and Wentworth. They offered me a baloney sandwich which I refused.

I feel like that is a strange definition of why someone hits someone. I think the entire point is to physically hurt someone. And much of the Ray Rice stuff is not just man/woman, but also domestic/spousal abuse, which is an entirely different thing.

I feel like that is a strange definition of why someone hits someone. I think the entire point is to physically hurt someone. And much of the Ray Rice stuff is not just man/woman, but also domestic/spousal abuse, which is an entirely different thing.

But the wife feels that she is being abused more now with this process than she was by the punch.
