I am now picking the Detroit Lions to win the division this year.

The Giants are an abortion. They should have scored way more.

Lions are 8-8, 9-7 at best come season's end. No playoffs.

I'll take that bet.

Suh is in a contract year. So are other players on that D. I like the coach.

I'd guess they're a wildcard favorite.

No its not a bit. Why? Their only serious competition is Green Bay and honestly I like the Lions better. The Bears aren't a 500 team and I don't think much of the Vikings. Detroit has serious firepower on both sides of the ball. Their biggest problem IMHO was they were very undisciplined and that was largely because the coach was a Meatball dope.

Well I don't think they have a ton of firepower. They are a top heavy team on both sides of the ball and are otherwise very thin. They also didn't look any more disciplined Monday night. And their coach might not be a meatball anymore, but he's still a dipshit with a bad track record as a head coach.

Take more than a game to make your call. Most think the Giants are absolute horse shit.

The previous coach was bad, but so is the current coach.

Maybe they can trade for Peyton!

Was watching the Tigers game on mlb.tv and they caught Johnson, Bush and Stafford with their wives/gfs. Appears Bush never got over Kardashian as he married a look-a-like:

Calvin wins, Stafford 2nd (but underwhelming), Bush 3rd is how I rank 'em

Let's not start sucking Detroit's dick just yet, after all, it was the putrid Giants they beat up on.

Stafford needs to play better against better teams:

there is hope for Lions fans--their crappy owner William Clay Ford whatever number died in the off-season:

Quote:
Clips = Chris Paul's team, he's the Pete Rose of the NBA right now. Bring in whomever CP3 wants and get the Clips funky ass owner, Donald Sterling?, out of the picture.

Whomever said the Clippers won't win anything is correct--until the current owner dies or sells the franchise.

The 'Culverhouse Rule': no amount of player or coaching or front-office talent can overcome a head-in-ass owner. See also, Blackhawks, Chicago pre 2007. Lions, Detroit, currently. Cubs, Chicago, going forward. Sorry, Cub fans, the Rickets are in way over their heads and don't have clue one what they are doing. Theo's taking their money, hiring his friends and will go back to the AL once his time in Chicago is up. Theo and his acolytes fail in the NL---No Manny, No Ortiz and his top-shelf PEDs? No can do.

The Detroit Pistons were owned for the longest time by Bill Davidson---the last time the Pistons did anything in the post-season was the 2008 season--Davidson died in 2009.

Scott Skiles is getting mentioned as a potential Nets coach, but his defensive-minded style seems like a better fit with the young Pistons team. Might help that the new owner of the Pistons attended the same college as Skiles at the same time as Skiles. Joe Dumars probably wants Brian Shaw, but it might be worth it for the owner to employ a team of rivals strategy and make Dumars and Skiles work together. Doubt Skiles would have sat silently by while Dumars picked Darko 2nd overall with Carmello/Bosh/D Wade still on the board.

Don't see either Skiles or Jerry Sloan giving Donald Sterling the time of day.

Whomever hires Skiles needs to ask themselves this question:

Are we okay with Jim Boylan taking over as head coach mid-season in a couple of years?

CoF, tell us again how much more mature and disciplined this new Lions team is.

What did they do?

They're playing like the Lions again. Turnovers, penalties, stupid play calling. They are thoroughly outplaying Carolina and it's 0-0. Detroit Lions football.

This is why I let that 2012 Detroit Lions Superbowl thread die.

Cousins is probably better even with both healthy.

Cousins can look good at times but I don't think he is the answer. We kinda saw that last year. RG3 may not be the answer either.

You're writing off a QB already that has looked good but hasn't even started a full season? That's a mistake.
