Kaepernick sucks. Plain and simple.

I said this when I started my thread. Keep Kaepernick in the pocket and you have a great chance to win.

Scorehead, why couldn't the great JIm Harbaugh coach his team to victory?

Nobody wants to say it, but as Tillman (a guy I have always liked), Ratliff and the other vets got out of there the defense got better. Maybe Kaep just got worse, that's a possibility, but the best thing for the defense might have been those injuries. We will find out as time goes on.

Ratliff was playing well tonight. That line needs him to be healthy.

But the unit played better with Sutton in there. In football some guys facilitate their teammates better. I'm not a skilled enough observer of football to make that claim about Sutton but I know that dynamic exists.

The 49ers couldn't run the ball for shit in the 2nd half and Fuller took complete ownership of Kaepernick in ways rookies shouldn't be able to do.

Speaking of Kaepernick, he's bad and he knows it. Look at his eyes, he always looks like he's staring down a freight train. He's scared. Looking at his facial expressions and body language you get the feeling he knows he's not any good and terrified of being exposed (like he was tonight).

I accept all apologies. Next week we're going to be positive and watch the Bears win their 2nd game of the season.

Unless he's playing the Packers.

I am shocked. That graphic at the end said a lot. Bears record when trailing by 16 or more on the road was 3-144-1!!!

This guy has been a total fucking animal. He's probably been our best lineman in both games. Total game-changer tonight. SF could not handle his speed. Ran Kaepernick down on that first one. If not for Fuller he'd be the best defensive player tonight.

Someone needs to make a Bears "Jump to Conclusions" mat. That'd be at least as successful as any attempt at a logical breakdown of their chances going forward.

The O-line was insanely good in pass-blocking tonight. Their run-blocking left much to be desired. Still and all, there were two starters out, and when you can give your QB that much time, it's hard not to call that an impressive effort. I was wishing they'd abandon the run earlier. You could tell it wasn't going to happen. And the screens, and really anything to Forte. SF was clearly keyed on Forte. I know the 1 & 2 receivers were hobbling, but still. It was like night and day when they said 'fuck it' and just started slinging it around.

BTW, I think Doug and OB said Cutler's rating was 119 tonight. Credit where credit is due; I hammered him last week, but he did what he needed to do this week, and basically played mistake-free, and in a game where it would have been easy to lose his cool and make stupid mistakes. Just keep throwing jump-balls to Marshall, Jeffrey, and *gas money voice* 83.

I still want more from him. I want him to be the reason they win, not just the reason they don't lose. I'm really disappointed him overall.

Agreed. He's paid like a guy that wins you games. Even as I give him props tonight, I'd acknowledge that the lineplay and the great catches by his awesome receivers had as much to do with it as anything. In essence, I'm praising him for not fucking up, which is a low bar. Still, baby steps. I still harbor a sliver of hope that he can reduce the fuckups and use his massive talent to actually pull out wins that should have been losses.

Yes, he is great. You hate him for whatever reason, but you also know that he is a great coach & a great leader of men. You do realize what his record is as a head coach in the NFL & NCAA is, right? Look it up. The last 3 football programs that he took over were in shambles & he turned them into winning programs. He could have been the Bears head coach. He called them but the Bears weren't ready to fire your guy Lovie. That was a huge mistake.

I don't think he'll ever win it all. He always falls short. I don't know that he did shit or not. SF was being built/built when he arrived. My guy Lovie? Really?

Jim Harbaugh is a fantastic coach that squeezes a lot of an offense rife with overhyped position players. Crabtree, Kaepernick, Vernon Davis, the aging hulk of Frank Gore... he makes something out of nothing.

If he had a pair of WR like Marshall and Jeffery it'd be a bloodbath.

I would expect to see a quick bounce back to collegiate coaching for Jim shortly... seems like a certain school he was a QB at could use a change in their coaching sooner than later. Can't imagine him doing anything but duplicating his previous successes as a head coach.

They're pretty damn good at pass blocking.

It won't matter tonight, though.

They are nowhere near the best pass blocking line in the league. Not even in the conversation.

You should probably reconsider this thought. It was a terrible one.
