When did universities start outfitting bathroom stalls with magazines.

I enjoy my work now. Not bad. Sometimes it sucks when the weather is bad and it's busy as hell but for the most part it's kind of cool.
My favorite job of all time was the two years or so I spent working at Ace Hardware while in high school. I learned a ton and it was a lot of fun. Never really felt like work.

I worked at a pool hall for six months. That did not suck at all.

Yeah that is opposite ends of the spectrum. If qualified just go change your job, there are way more openings now than there was a couple years ago.

The pizza delivery job I had my senior year of high school was the most fun job I have had. Drive around, listen to music, smoke a little weed, and meet all kinds of weirdos.

I used to sell vacuum cleaners door-to-door. Not much fun.

Good vacuum though.

I met a lot of interesting people selling Fuller Brushes out of my Plymouth coup. Good times.

Yes.

It was just as difficult as you might think to sell a $2000 vacuum in the 1980s.

Maybe I should have used a bigger picture.

Yes.

I almost did that after my short stint as a car salesman after leaving the food and beverage management position that I had worked my way into after starting as a busboy in 1982. But it all works out one door closes another opens.

I do literally nothing but show up. Half the time I'm late. I still hate it because it's 7-8 hours out of my day but it's not the worst. I work with some decent people.

I take every chance I get on travel assignments, usually those consist of 2 hours of work and 3-4 nights at the hotel expenses paid.

I will eventually brain storm my way out of working, I've come along way since being a believer in the cult of hard work to where I am now. One problem I've found in being able to be a complete loss for my employer is politics and jealousy. All it takes is one coworker with similar aspirations and you're fucked, they'll come for your ass because they want what you have. That sucks, because then I expend the same amount of energy pretending to work as I would actually doing the work just to put on a good show for everyone.

Were they selling them out of your car over a period time or all at once?

(also could have made a "coup" joke, but .... nah)

I like what I do now. Worst job I ever has was the Army. Few weeks a year or so we would learn or do some cool shit and the rest of the time you're bored as fuck. And you can't get high.

I liked being maintenance
