Agreed. One of the biggest problems is all the grey areas in so many rules now in the name of player safety.

Going forward players should just be made aware that they are signing off on playing a violent and dangerous game in exchange for millions and the league should reset some of these ridiculous rules.

These games are unwatchable. The NFL is committing suicide in the same manner that Hemingway went bankrupt. Gradually, then suddenly. Love that quote.

That "piling on" call was the first time in my life I thought "what am I watching?" It didn't seem like football anymore.

Great call, he let with his helmet.

Today wasn't even about the rules to me. Players weren't even making contact on some of the calls. When in doubt, put the damn flag away.

That 3rd down call was my favorite along with the helmet to helmet hit on a defenseless receiver that didn't happened.

It is a shame Bear fans can't just accept the loss, I am going back to feeling sad again.

I'm okay with it. This is a game I penciled in as a loss before the season started.

Yeah, and it wasn't close. No part of him ever touched the helmet at all.

Someone needs to warn B&B: the NFL refs are stealing their bits! They're carrying out their own personal 'tournament of bad.' It's become clear that every crew is out to be worse than all others that came before it.

The officials did not cost the Bears this game. But that doesn't change the fact that, once again, the officiating was outright brutal, and made all fans of both teams cringe and tear their hair out. The best you can say about it was that they were pretty equal-opportunity in their absolutely insane calls.

Agreed. Didn't cost the Bears the game in any way. Just made me sad for the NFL.

Basically, you can't light a WR up Tom Waddle-style anymore. It really doesn't matter if you aren't trying to hit the head, or even if you actually don't hit the head. Paste a wideout, and it's a 15 yard penalty. And that fucking sucks.

Seriously...watch a college football game, then watch an NFL game. If the players were all in generic uniforms, you would choose the college game as the better more exciting game. College football is a much better officiated game.
Vegas, casinos, sportsbooks & gamblers must be going nuts with the referee bullshit each week.

I'm with Doc and the "what am I watching?!?" It started with the call on Peppers where they either flip flopped the call and no one caught it or they just blatantly made something up. Personal foul on the Cutler slide (he pulled up as much as possible). The helmet to helmet hit that was forearm to shoulder. Touchdown that wasnt a touchdown. First downs that are 2 yds short... Terrible all around.

As a Bears fan, I agree 100%.

My first thought was, "what a stupid and selfish move"

He was diving toward tackling the guy. It's hard to dive toward a guy without your helmet going first.

Terrible Officiating is rearing its ugly head again today.
A phantom facemask call and a bad PI call in the endzone.

The PI was the correct call. Fuller never turned his head to look for the ball.

Though, that's wha happened on Marshall pick so they missed that one.

A couple years ago that's just called tight defense.
