If the Bears lose, it's party time for all of the QB haters. No matter how the game actually plays out, it's always Jay Cutler's fault. Everybody pile on the QB. Hell, he had 3 TD's halfway through the 2nd Q and I still heard people bitching about the 1 INT instead.

Nevermind that the defense is terrible and has no idea where the opposing QB is.
Nevermind that the defense has given up 92 points in their 3 losses (31 yesterday to a team without a WR or a RB).
Nevermind that Green Bay scored 38 points in 3 quarters last week and never punted, it was Cutler's fault.
Nevermind that the special teams is worse than nonexistent. At this point the Bears would be better off sending the punter and long snapper out there alone and just kicking it out of bounds on every 4th down. At least the chance for a penalty would be greatly reduced.
Nevermind that the Bears were still looking at a win until Forte fumbled, it was Cutler's INT that was more costly.

Cutler is not Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. He never will be. But he's also not Craig Krenzel, Moses Moreno, Steve Stenstrom, or Rex Grossman, or............. Many Bears "fans" have a short memory about the QB position in this town.

Could Cutler have played better? Absolutely. But that goes for every single Bear yesterday.
I have never seen/heard so many "fans" of a team celebrate a loss like these supposed Bears "fans" do.

The QB MUST play better, but agree with your overall point, spany. Cutler throws and INT and everybody is ready to run him out of town. Forte puts the ball on the carpet late in the 4th quarter of a crucial, and its silence for the most part.

All 3 phases were bad yesterday, and have been bad during many points this season. I don't know what the solution is, and I'm not sure Trestman does either.

The thing about Forte is that he has been a top 5 running back for a good portion of his career in terms of total yards. He had 166 yards yesterday too which is something you'd take every single week and be happy. His turnover was bad but that is what probably explains him getting somewhat of a pass.

Jay Cutler is the J.J. Abrams of quarterbacks.

He's got the ending to the season locked in a safe in his office?

Forte has been great overall. That doesn't mean he can't have a bad day or can't be criticized for a bad play.

I think a viable argument can be made that if Cutler doesn't throw the second pick, OR Forte doesn't fumble, the Bears probably eek out a win yesterday. Interceptions and fumbles simply cannot happen in the 4th quarter of a close game when you have the lead.

He gets paid like Manning and Brady. He is expected to play like a top level QB. He should at the very least keep us in the game and not help lose it for us. The money they spent on Cutler could have gone to the defense. You can't compare him to the Krenzel's of Bears past. Apples to Oranges.

I agree. He has his share of the blame.

I'd say that the coaches are getting even more blame than Cutler for this one though.

The interesting thing is that in almost all measurements Tony Romo is also noticeably better than Cutler.

He had some issues in that game too but I bet he has a pretty good fourth quarter qb rating.

Rick really, REALLY likes Kyle Orton.

Did Orton say "hello" to you or something like that in college, Rick?

Maybe he paid you to do his homework?

Did you bake him some cookies?

Agreed...he is paid $$$$$ to overcome the shitty defense, not to put them in bad positions.

It is hard to imagine a QB doing worse with the weapons and purported offensive schematic advantage he has (not to sound like Charlie Weis...).

The whole team has been catered to Cutler's wants. Head coach, WR, RB, TE, OL etc etc etc.

So essentially you want the team Cutler-proofed.

The guy was 28 for 36. The 2 picks were bad decisions but teams have won with a guy throwing 2 picks before. Neither of them were Pick 6s.

He's been the better QB on the field in 4 out of the 5 games.

But let's focus on him and not the defense.

The Bears spend very little on defense compared to most of the league. The defense is bad but that is what happens when you stock your offense like they have.

I didn't think the plan was to have an offense that is never allowed to make a mistake. I'm against that plan.

I thought the defense and special teams were supposed to be somewhat adequate.

But, now understanding that the plan is a perfect offense and horrible, horrible defense and special teams, I'm not for it. Seems 1/3 of the plan is unsustainable and 2/3 is very sustainable.

So Emery and Trestman should be fired? I'd be down for that.

they built the fucking team around Cutler. They hired the COACH for Cutler. He is not top-5 QB, nor will he ever be. it is a total failure.
