Slow off the snap. Showing age.

Got better towards the end of the game - in crunch time.

Agreed. His value seems very low unless he is speed rushing on long downs. Even then, it's suspect.

Almost every play he was the last guy moving.

Sounds like the scouting report for Shea McClelln.

He had a few QB pressures tonight and was in position most plays and didnt make many mistakes, but we expect more big plays from him. He'll get one next week against Gay-Rod.

One down he was so late off the snap, I thought he might of delayed.

Then he knows he is slow off the snap, so he needs to guess the snap counts and should have been off side.

Not to mention the sack he missed.

Gonna need some plays off.

He made the play that should have ended the game (Catch the fucking ball Bostic!) and owned Ferguson in the 4th quarter.

Exactly. Bostics play is very disapointing. I hope he can improve. Alot.

I said the same thing several times tonight. Can't believe his reaction time to snaps. Everyone was moving before him several times tonight. It was weird. Never really seen that before.

Allen's so slow the refs allow him to get away with late hit after late hit on the opposing QB.

I saw that. He was just frozen there. Of course he managed to beat Ferguson on an inside move and get to Smith anyways, but he was spent a solid half second in his stance after the ball was snapped.

Maybe he's playing mind games? Lol.

That's what I don't get, we have plenty of options on the D-Line, why is out there seemingly every play? Peppers has actually looked better than Allen.

13 tackles ain't bad, but yes more impact plays would be nice.

I know he doesnt practice during the week, which makes me think as the year goes on, he will actually get worse. Hope I am wrong, but this doesnt look good.

Since he's bad, at least I won't have to see him do that stupid "roping a calf" sack celebration.

He said during a pre game interview that he always got off to fast starts. As he has gotten older, he has had less intense training camps which result in him being more sluggish at the beginning of recent years. However, he has finished much better. Those are his words

Pressures the QB when unblocked; better than Shea

I'm ok with that

he had 11.5 sacks last year, had 6.5 in the last 5 games last year.

i'd say transition allen to a 3rd down pass rush guy now.... let young and houston do most of the work 1st and 2nd down.... then 3rd down move houston inside next to ratliff and let young and allen go get the QB at the ends

I thought he played well last night, it felt like he was in the applying some pressure, particularly in the 2nd half.

You and Darkside have sharper eyes than me. I couldn't tell if he was slow off the snap but his closing speed looks pretty good. He hits as hard as hell, too. I'm surprised the Jets QB was able to get up on a few of those. I think he is an upgrade from Peppers.

He dominated one of the best LT's in the NFL last night in the 4th quarter. Geno Smith being mobile really helped the Jets.

Congrats on his sack of jumping over the OL, holding him up for ....someone else to come in.....

No need for the calf roping, you look like a fool.
