They can't run the ball. They can't guarantee to themselves that they can get 3 yards on a run play, hell, even 2. That forces them to throw on 3rd and short all the time and the percentages are against you in the long-run to keep doing that and maintaining drives.

The benefit of being able to get 7 yards on a 1st down pass is the ability to give you options on 2nd, knowing you can get it on 3rd with a short run. This team cannot.

Case in point is the drive that should have put them up 28-7 where they missed Bennett over the middle on 3rd and 3. A good offense nuts up and runs it up the gut for a 1st and the game is over. This team cannot.

Forte hurt his hand on the big run and the rookie was crushed on first down. That may be why they didn't run.

talk about a set of scrubs for O-Linemen, though. Kromer has worked miracles.

They are great at pass blocking.

They weren't yesterday. But, they are injured, so I'll cut them some slack.

Probably not the greatest idea to try to attack their only good player, though. Kuechly...pretty good.

Agreed! He started to shadow Forte on every play. Arguably the best LBer in the NFL.

Yeah, that was puzzling. I mean, I'm not an expert or anything, but it seems to me it might have been a good idea to try to avoid him, rather than throwing it to whoever was standing next to him all day long.

Maybe he could teach Lance Briggs how to tackle.

Briggs is just done. I can't hate on him.

He was great but he's just out there now because nobody is better so, why not.

Agreed. The fact that he's playing only underscores Emery's failure as a GM.

You don't cut Lance Briggs. Emery got right.

The scouting report on him from college was spot on: a tackling machine who is always in the correct spot

He's pretty good at blowing up blocks too.
