it was obvious in wisconsin the guy was a pro...

why did so many teams in the nfl look the other way?

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/the ... ar-BB7XW1Y

do you think it's actually because of his history of being a bully? i would imagine that stuff showed up in his scouting report....

Too short.

Just like Drew Brees.

However, you will still be right 9/10 times when you avoid the short guy. Every draft is filled with guys like that.

You can be short, and you can be black, but you can't be both.

Although if he were short and white, he would have probably went undrafted and then converted to a WR.

Did Seattle really miss? They drafted him in the 3rd round, after signing a free agent QB (Flynn), which almost bumps him up to a first rounder or 2nd at the worst.

5 QB's Picked before him. 4 in the first round.

Seatlle took Bruce Irvin and Bobby Wagner before Wilson in the 3rd.

Irvin plays, but not as much as he used to and Wagner is a starting top level LB.

The team that really missed is Denver. Here they are looking to take a QB to develop, as they know Manning will be the QB for the next 2-3 years...and they chose Brock Ostrichweiler, from ASU.

I understand not taking him in the first round, due to his height....nobody wanted to be the GM who drafted the guy who got all his passes batted down, but they missed on that one.

I only remember it due to the ASU v. UA rivalry....Nick Foles was drafted after Wilson in the 3rd.

Brock might still be great....but gonna be tough to get to Wilson Levels.

NOTE: Wilsons deal is up after next season. Usually a team is not looking to let a guy like that go into free agency...so a deal for him is coming this year.....how much???$$$$$$$$$$????????

Wilson is a system QB. It's not like he would be starting for every team in the league.

Who "missed" on him? Only 1 team can draft each player & the Seahawks took him in the 3rd. If they didn't take him there, someone else would have picked him. Sometimes teams get lucky drafting a player. Tom Brady comes to mind as a 6th rounder.

Wilson is probably my favorite player in the NFL right now.

If he was taken in the third round, every team passed on him at least twice, some even 3 times. The math is not very complicated.

It's true and frankly, he is quickly becoming one of the more overrated players in the game.

I don't pretend this is conclusive but it was echoed by Chris Carter this morning.

Let's give him Jay Cutler type scrutiny. How many QBs would you take before him this year, irrespective of age and salary?

I will have to give this more thought as I am about to get out of here, but these 4 for sure:
Rodgers
Brady
Manning
Brees

True on all.

Wilson isn't even the best young QB in the league as that goes to Luck.

Wilson isn't even the best QB playing out of his mind this year as that is Rivers.

Despite that, here we are with more than one outlet calling him the MVP. He isn't even the MVP of his team.

Maybe there was some dirt on the school transfer.

The talk kind of reminds me of how Manning (NYG) and Roethlisberger were lock Hall of Fame players

Oh, they are for sure. Pittsburgh and New York QBs winning Super Bowls.

Ben for sure.

Eli would be borderline but him being Peyton's brother puts it over the top, no question.

The "QB I'd Take Before Wilson" scrutiny doesn't even take into account the more nuanced analysis that Wilson isn't the guy you primarily game plan for on Seattle. The first approach is to stop the run with Lynch. Wilson is in a fairly low pressure situation as a QB. He knows he doesn't have to put points on the board for them to win on most days. He knows he doesn't have to carry the water for that offense. His efficiency is remarkable but he simply is not burdened the same way the elites are.

tom brady was a complete anomaly

He wasn't a star. He was the equivalent of Case Keenum and Kellen Moore. He was very good and led Wisconsin to a nice season.
