He'll get it next year with the Cubs.

I'm for the Yankees. Melky just got jammed by Paul Byrd. Ugh.

The Yanks will have at least two runs after this at bat by Jeter.

I meant 1. Blake didn't need to dive for that. It hit off his wrist.

ARod has been a flop in the playoffs once again.

Then he will fit in perfectly with the Cubs next year!

I Wanna see the Rockies or Indians win it all. The Rockies because its an amazing story, and the Indians because its about time people realize the Central is the best division in baseball not the East

Both series should be pretty entertaining....I'll be rooting for the Red Sox vs Rockies.

definitely the Saux for me, but a close second would be the Rockies. Colorado's one of my favorite states, I love Denver, and out of the new expansion teams, they're the only ones I didn't have a problem with. And they're a great story, too. Besides, Broncos fans could use something to cheer for... :?

What the Yanks and their fans call failure (and maybe shitcan the manager) certain Cub fans and Piniella consider a successful season.

There are two (2) inferences that may be drawn from your last remark:

1) Will the Red Sox prevail against the Cleveland Indians?; or
2) Will I pay off my bet?

I have chosen to draw the latter inference. Therefore, I can certainly assure you that I have every intention of fulfilling my obligations. Thank you very much for questioning my ethics.

As for a "long winded eulogy," the pain is too acute at present. In any case, I fear that my audience would be less than receptive.

I would like to hear a Yankee's fan thoughts on the future. The team is in a definite state of flux. I think they can bring together a good everyday lineup for next year. I don't think the pitching staff, both starters and relievers, is going to be dramatically better. The continued committment of cash by the Blue Jays may also impact the success of the team.

I find it very odd that guys like Rivera and Posada would consider not coming back. The Yanks have been loyal to them, made them household names and made them very wealthy. Also for a guy like Rivera, it always looks great for you legacy to have played with the same team for an entire career.

I don't think they are in a state of flux. They are still a good team. They will be rid of Roger Clemens, and can spend to make up for other mistakes on the team.

Agreed. That man was a complete waste of money. I think it's time to quite Rog, you're body's age is catching up with you.

That hammy always seems to act up when the opponents are hitting the snot out of him. I'm not sayin...

All he has to do is go back to the NL and he will have an era under 3 and double digit victories.

I can see it now, Santo on the radio saying "Roger is in FitzSimmons box".

By the way, doesn't that Yankee announcer look all the more foolish now. It was not that hard to predict that Roguh would not have that big of an impact in the AL.

They are most likely losing the MVP, their hall of fame closer, possibly their all star catcher, their manager and at least 2/5 of their starting staff. That's flux.

It does not mean they will not come out smelling like a rose. Lowell would be a great pickup at third, while also injuring their competition. They have enough mlb ready young talent to trade for a top line starter or two as well.

I actually had what you verbalized in inference #1 in mind. I happen to feel that the Indians will prevail, but the Red Sox will manage to make it a series.

It would appear that I owe you an apology, and I humbly offer same.

I fear that I was a slight bit short tempered today.

Ha Ha! I usually like to relax on Tuesday since most teams take it off, and the news is usually a bit slower.

Never fair, NFL Tidbits return Wednesday.
