No CH, no spectacular thread preview, but we know he hates Nashville.

Rinne not playing; Carter Hutton instead.

Oduya!

CH is still licking his wounds after Sink told him that his whole life was based around white privilege.

Two dumb penalties during what was supposed to be a power play is not the best way to build on a 1 - 0 lead.

Nashville is less hateable now that Barry Trotz is gone. That guy coaches the most boring style of Hockey. I wonder how that great teammate Ovechkin will like playing for a guy who hates offense and shots on goal? Preds have taken nicely to Lavioletts puck control system.

Power play back to the chunk-blowing fest that was last season's.

Great save by Crawford.

I like playing the Preds and Coyotes.

Lots of hockey fans hated the Preds because of the terribly boring defensive style that was coached by former coach Barry Trotz. He is the NHL version of Lovie Smith. Many hockey purists dont like the teams in the South. No one really cares about hockey in bad sports towns with lots of transplants like Nashville, Phoenix, Tampa Bay, Carolina, etc...

Curious Hair might be my dad. Any team that's not the original 6 shouldn't have a team according to him, most of the time. Teams in warm weather climates also tend to be a no no for him.

Love the Toews goal, don't love being held to two goals at home in the second half of an opponent's back-to-back with a backup goalie and a coach whose idea of defensive tactics is to clap his hands and yell "INTENSITY, GUYS, INTENSITY!" There must be some residual Trotziness left in them.

My feel is that the guys are taking it easy through this light part of October and will crank it up once they start playing more often, which is very soon. This was only their fourth game with some teams having played their sixth or seventh already. I think once they get in the groove, they'll start lighting it up.

Didn't do a thread because I expected that I'd need a little break from hockey stuff and indeed I do very much. I only watched the last ten minutes + overtime.

Do you have kids that play? Blackhawks are my escape for a few hours. I can't see not wanting to watch it.

Its not like they're not getting pucks to the net though. 50 shots against Calgary and they outshot Nashville 34-17. Im pretty confident if they average 40 plus shots a game, they're going to score in bunches.

Yeah, I mean they're not going to play Buffalo and Calgary every night, but it looks like this team is going to shoot a lot and the goals will come. Shooting percentages never stay crazy high or crazy low. Seven points in four games of not firing on all cylinders is actually remarkable and very encouraging. Once the third pair and third line are figured out, this should be good.

Fewer, but more meaningful shots against the Preds than we saw against Calgary.

Crawford playing really, really well to start the season. I'd have to imagine he'll level off a bit.
Carcillo still sucks.
I've yet to see anything from Brad Richards that warrants excitement.
Power Play still a joke.

I agree with CH....they appear to be reserved. I look forward to them stepping it up soon. Hossa especially...either he's lost a step or he's pacing himself. IDK

Hossa and Seabrook worry me. Crawford has been a pleasant surprise, although he is being tested less than the opponent's goalie. The power play continues to be an issue mainly with the poor entries into the zone. Richards doesn't exist in my world.

CH, I hope things improve for you. I was out at a bar on Saturday night, so I did not get your address your post about the walls closing in.
