Let me be hungover and I'll be fine come Tuesday. I just a need a day to hate myself.

Fair point, but it makes things a lot easier for them when they have had one of the best QBs in the game/of all time taking 90+% of their snaps over the last 22 years.

I was mainly speaking to the fact they've drafted well and made for the most part solid judgements with improving their team. I don't know how they got Favre and Rodgers, but they must have some knowledge of what "exceptional" is.

Ron Wolf wanted Favre in the draft but the Falcons took him before the Packers picked. He then traded for him the next year. Rodgers fell into their lap after 23 other teams didn't take him.

Or just call a TO to force them to punt.

I still can't figure out why Philbin ended up punting that or even calling timeout with :08 left to run one play to get into FG position. Even if they didn't get it, the Bears would only be able to run 1 play at most from their own 40.

Actually, I think there were only 5 seconds left, which is even more reason Miami should have thrown a Hail Mary and really expose Trestman's stupidity.

They just screwed that up last week or the week before. How do you make the same damn mistake again? That can't be a lateral. That's on Cutler, too, but they obviously didn't drill it into him to get that right.

They ran 2 of them! I don't know why, but Cutler can't make that throw. He fucks it up like 60% of the time, and on the rare occasion where he completes it, the Bears invariably lose yardage. Yet we keep running the play. Fucking why? WHYYYYYYYY??

There were only 5 seconds left when they took the delay of game. I'm saying they could have called a TO with about :08 to try to get 10 yards and kick a field goal. Worst case is they fail and the Bears get the ball at their own 40ish with a couple seconds. I guess they could throw a pick so they were probably happy to just go in at half up 14. But, I'd have thought about doing it if I were the Dolphins.

I see your point now...though I can understand Philbin not wanting to give Cutler a free play to throw 60 yards into the end zone with three tall receivers (assuming Trestman wouldn't have called another dump to Forte  )

Philbin's shitty clock management cost him the Packers game.

He was proven wise by not getting a kick blocked or a Hail Mary returned for a TD.

I am so damn numb. The Hawks need 100 shots to score three goals. ND can't close the deal. The Bears play a good game then a bad game in a schizophrenic pattern. In a week or so, I guess we get to debate Thibs use (or lack thereof) of players in the fourth quarter.

Remember, nothing in Emery's background screams out "Great GM". The guy who hired him should be fired.

From Wikipedia:
Emery was a scout for the Bears from 1998 to 2004, serving head coach Lovie Smith. After this, he was a director of scouting for the Atlanta Falcons from 2004 to 2008 and the Kansas City Chiefs from 2008 to 2011. Prior to the Bears job, he was a strength and conditioning coach at several colleges, including Central Michigan University (1981–1982), Western New Mexico University (1983), Georgetown College (1984–1985), Saginaw Valley State University (1983–1987), University of Tennessee (1987–1991), and the United States Naval Academy (1991–1998).[4]

I got a chuckle out of a text sent to B&B last week that said Mike Metheny managed a post-season game as though it was a pre-season game, and Thibodeau manages pre-season games like they're post-season games.

We know Rose and Noah are going to need rest to keep them healthy. I am already seeing a lot of print about Gasol not playing in the 4th. It'll be interesting to see how Thibs manages minutes in the regular season.

I only care to the extent that the Bears are major suckage, and it looks like I am going to have invest in the Bulls to supplement the irrelevant hockey regular season (as if the NBA season is relevant....).

BINGO! The guy is an accountant! The only reason he is the President of this team is because the owners are such social misfits that Teddy was made President to go have the necessary meetings with
Jerry to get ISFA/State funding for the new facility. But I am sure the fact he was made President so Mike Mccaskey didnt need to meet with Jerry has nothing to do with someones theory around here.

Maybe George McCaskey is different in the way he runs this team, maybe he socializes with other NFL people not named Mara , but if you don't meet and talk to people in the NFl, then how the hell do you have any sense of what a good GM, a good President or even have a clue at how a great organization runs??????

This is the fucking Chicago Bears ....a $2 Bill entity with no debt....and thats a low estimate in Value that by all accounts....and here they are played on a rented field with chunks of sod flying up in th4e smallest stadium in the NFL.....this alone should be an example of how the people who own this team run it.

If the McCaskey's were actually anti-semites like you promised us, then Trestman never would have hired and we wouldn't be in this position.

I hope they lose out and he gets fired.

A coach with an iota of leadership skills would have the Bears in the play offs in 2015.

Best football coach Chicago has seen since the early 80's was Jewish:

I've always been a big fan of Marv Levy. 4 straight SB appearance (yeah, all losses) is a great accomplishment.

I am still baffled that an offense with this much talent could perform so poorly in long stretches. For the first time, I have lost faith in Trestman. For some reason, I thought he might be a hidden gem.

You literally have four easy options on any given down:

1) Give the ball to Forte,
2) Black unicorn over the middle,
3) Throw high to Jeffrey,
4) Throw high to Marshall.

Any of those has a good chance of success.

This guy is such a liar in press conferences. If he isn't, then he is the most clueless coach in the NFL. He makes so many "I don't know" answers that there is no way he is telling the truth.

We really feel that plays are overrated, or overanalyzed, when we look at it. We really feel like there are times in a football game when you can have too many plays.

In this case, Brandon thought it might be a good idea to wait. But, we actually have to do a better job of actually running plays, no question about it.

100% agree. A Lovie team also probably picks up Rodgers' 'pass/fumble' from last year and possibly makes the playoffs.

I hated Lovie pressers because it was clear he wasn't interested in bothering to tell you anything remotely truthful and you knew it.

I'm now hating Trestman pressers because, honestly, it's not at all clear if he's bullshitting or if he's actually that out of touch, and were it to be the latter, that's more disconcerting than active contempt for an outsider asking questions.
