Hester may have at times, but overall Lovie's teams knew what was going on. They were just bad.

He also never lost the locker room and wasn't afraid to put a boot in somebody's ass behind closed doors. I can't really say the same for Trestman.

In addition to performance being able to get guys to buy in is the most important challenge of being a coach. Lovie's faults are many but one thing he excelled at was keeping the peace in the locker room.
