105 today. Took a damn long time to play but was ok as it was pretty empty. Up in the mountains the wind was blowing. Drove for shit but irons and short in game was ON which made me happy. Leaves everywhere so finding balls was tough. Didn't mind though as the peak color change happening and I was not working.

I just got my latest update on my handicap. 4.1 My average score is 78 something. I suppose I
don't understand how the handicap system works. I guess the courses I play are a little tougher
than average which probably skews the number a bit. I am fine with it. I'd like to get out 3
more times this year but want to end on a good note. I would have been fine ending after this
past weekend the way I played but I think I have a few more in me. I'm at 37 rounds this year
and would like to hit 40. I wanted 50 but messed that up.

With temps forecasted to be in the mid-upper 60s (possibly even 70!) I've already booked a time at Coyote Run for Saturday. Maybe I can squeeze out one more decent round before the sticks go into the basement for the winter.

Finished third in my outing last week. Won a new wedge so I was happy about that... Packed the clubs up once I got home. See them again in the spring.

I wonder if you will see an entire album tonite as well. That was one hellava set you were treated to in Moline.

 oh, we heard Yield. No biggie. My favorite album, so I wasn't freaking out or anything. Yesterday morning started with finding out we're (for now) having a healthy baby, followed by my best golf round of the year, and then getting to hear an amazing album in full (first time they had ever played it). Life is good!

I completely forgot to enter the 10club purchases for those two shows. When the tour was announced, I had planned to go either Moline or Milwaukee. Yield is one of my favorite albums ever (by any band) so that would have been a real treat. That set from Moline was really, really good. That set last night would have been damn near perfect for me.

I've heard that it isn't very difficult to do it yourself. I just haven't trusted myself to do it before.
Last time I had it done I took it to Dicks and they do it for a couple of bucks a club not including
the cost of the grips which vary.

I'm playing in a 16 man Ryder Cup style match on Nov 2 (weather permitting). I have to get my butt on a course this weekend because I haven't swung a club in almost 2 months. This could be real ugly.

Thanks I assumed Dick's or similar was cheaper than a pro shop. Maybe I will look into doing it myself over winter.

If you have a course you play regularly, there is usually a old timer that does it for cheaper than anywhere, just ask around.

PGA Superstore charges $1/grip, whether you buy the grips there or not. Then again, Dick's/Golf Galaxy are a Pitt-area company so you may want to support them.

Not sure how old your grips or what model/material, but usually warm water, mild dish soap and a Scotchbrite green pad can bring back a good bit of the tackiness. I clean my grips usually every 3-4 rounds and they last longer.

Well I am pretty sure that I am about done with the season. I don't think I have enough passion left to go
out any more this season so I added up my year end stats. I had 30 rounds of golf that I kept all my
stats for and they look like this:

Average score -- 78.3
Fairways/round -- 5.5
Greens/round -- 10
Putts/round -- 33.9
3 putts / round -- 1.3
Scrambling -- 44% ( I consider this any chance to save par from within 30 yards but is pretty subjective )
Sand Saves -- 13.5%

Overall I was pretty happy with the season as I got out 40 times this season total including scramble tournaments.
didn't count my 9 hole rounds either which was probably 5 or 6. The 78.3 average really could have been lower but during a stretch between late May and early July I played 8 times and never broke 80 once. I did have 9
rounds of 75 or lower including a 68 so that was all pretty solid.

Fairways need to get up to 7 or 8 a round and 10 greens a round isn't horrible but would be better if it was
11 or higher. The putts really should be down around 32 a round total. Scrambling ideally would be closer to
60% or higher but a lot of work has to be put in to improve that number. The Sand Saves number is probably
the most disappointing to me because I consider myself a pretty decent sand player. That number should be
up near 40% or higher.

Once again my off season goals include getting in better physical shape, improving flexibility and maybe adding
a new weapon or two to the mix. I've been kicking around the idea of getting a new driver or new irons but
either option would be an expensive one and I could easily get another season out of what I currently use.
Was great getting to play with Hawg, Chus, Furious Styles and Donspiracy this season. We'll have to do it
again more next year. I am not sure if I will get a membership again next year or just play somewhere different
all the time. I honestly think I spend half as much with the membership than I have without one.

Saturday, I am flying down to Savannah, GA to swing the sticks. My buddy, who lives in Bolingbrook, drove down on Tuesday, with my clubs and suitcase. His mother lives in a HUGE house on Skidaway Island, which is where we will be staying. Our buddy in Sarasota is driving up, as well.

Sunday we are playing The Club at Savannah Harbor.

http://www.theclubatsavannahharbor.com/index.php

Monday and Tuesday, we will be playing at The Landings Club.

I have never played three straight days, so I hope my back can handle it. I haven't had seven surgeries, but it still flares up, from time to time.

Just got a call completely out of the blue from an old friend from high school and college to see if I wanted to
play for free today at a Country Club called The Grove. There is no way I could get away and even if I could
it might have been a stretch to get there in 90 minutes. Looked pretty nice online but I had never heard of it
before.

Pulled a hammy Friday night being old and playing hockey, that puts an end to any thoughts about extending the golf season a bit further.

I can't believe you are not playing this weekend, it looks to be gorgeous out. I am playing Sunday with Jr.

Yeah, I am just kinda burned out and wanting to switch gears. Was hoping to spend some time with the
girlfriend as well.
