Well that sucks. Lincecum was throwing really good. I hope it's nothing serious and he will be able to pitch again this series. He's fun to watch.

Lincecum has to be one of the most unique careers ever. Big fan of that guy.

Going to the pen without bitching after being the best pitcher in the game for 4 years was awesome.

He was the ace in '10, Cain in '12 and now Bumgarner. That may be one of the most amazing things I've seen in baseball.

Has Bumgarner signed a long-term deal? He better get his ASAP before he sucks in 2-3 years.

I agree.

He could still have something to say about this series. A long extra inning game that he comes in and goes 4-5 innings and gets a W.

And to think the "experts" gave the Giants heat for drafting Joe Panik in the 1st round. I love the Brian Sabean.

That dumbass threw over to first base twice with an American League relief pitcher at the plate. I don't understand what these guys are thinking.

I'm getting sick of this Ned Yost has been "masterful" using his bullpen bullshit. Oh gee which unhittable reliever am I going to bring in now?? I guess I'll bring in this guy. Oh wait maybe I'll put in that guy. Well maybe I'll bring in that other guy. Well I have that one guy too. Decisions decisions.

Any talk about going to DH for both leagues was just, thankfully, squelched at least for quite a while after this inning tonight.

Thanks, Bruce, for over-extending your pitcher in a World Series game for the long-term greater good!

Fundamentals matter. Royals have scored 4 since Vogelsong was late to the bag on ehst should have been the 3rd out

Bruce should have went with Baumgardner in this game.

No it was a lack of fundamentals, I was referring to. Either way I wouldnt credit or rip the manager. Thdyre fuckin major leaguers. Its very simple stuff.

I believe the biggest affect a manager can have is the culture snd atmosphere he creates. As far as that goes Yost and Bochy are both great. In game decisions are where Ned usually struggles

Good article

Look the guy melted down two seasons in a row with a contending playoff team in Milwaukee (so much so that he was fired a week before the playoffs) and he makes lots of odd calls. His reputation is earned.

And then there are some things that are so stupid they blow your credibility forever. Like Lovie Smith. I'm a fan but I could never completely trust him after the Sea playoff game timeout. Yost has had a few of those (two in the wc game against Oak)
