Despite the fact that baseball is about local followings, Fox had the wrong idea with regional coverage like football. It never should have been more than the Game of the Week. Highlight one game that the whole nation can get behind and leave the other three or four games to local broadcasters.

Hard to disagree with that. Over saturation and too much information is off putting and adds to the dissatisfaction of game enjoyment. I want to unwind enjoy the game I'm watching - if I want to know something about the other dozen or so games, there are many options to accomplish that.

Also, I have found that the older you get the more you enjoy watching a game - period. Doesn't matter the teams, playoff, WS or whatever. I just think that the appreciation and love for the game and your team increases as you become more "seasoned".
That is absolutely the case with me.

Just curious, does anyone keep score on a scorecard at the game anymore? That's what my grandfather did with me and it kept me interested in the game. If I could afford to go to a game, I would do it with my kid. Then there was collecting baseball cards. Honestly, cards were how I knew about all the players across the sports.

I don't like the pitch count and strike zone on the screen the whole time. It's too much clutter. I don't mind looks at them between pitches -- god knows there's enough time -- but we don't need to burn it into America's television screens. Yeah, the first pitch was a strike low and away. I remember.

Yes, very niche. I know sports fan who haven't watched a game all year. It's sad, but I can still enjoy it. I do things I like rather than what others think is fun.

How revolutionary

Its niche but not like hockey because almost everyone will at least claim fandom of a team.

Its a great game

Baseball was only really huge when there were no other options. It's actually held on pretty well when you compare it to other really old sports like boxing and horse racing. It probably also helped that baseball was the game easiest to describe in paper format.

Baseball was my #1 sport when I was a kid, but it got passed by basketball, then football, and now hockey is starting to do it for me. I just find it more compelling.
