Yesterday's game was 100% on Jay. He is the #1 reason they lost and it's not even close.
The rest of the pieces are in place.

Not what I said, spany. Not even close.

RPB, go to a strip club with Pacman Jones.

The offense is too predictable. That's probably why the receivers aren't open. We're demanding that he not force the ball to covered receivers and also score 21 points in a half. Now we're saying 18 touchdowns and 8 interceptions just isn't good enough.

Totally agree.
I am saving my complaints about the defense for the 20-page thread that rips the defense

That's not even close to what anyone has said. But hey, when you can't really argue a point, why not come in and pretend to be sarcastic with a one-liner to distract from the fact that you are on the losing side of the argument...

The defense didnt have high expectations and most of them arent being paid like they're elite

Thank goodness the ones that are being paid that way are performing at an elite level, or we'd probably crash this board

If you are going to count rushing touchdowns then you need to count fumbles, which you do not want to do.

The first part of your statement should be a no brainer.

The 2nd part of your statement...it takes the Bears full games to get 21 points, and sometimes (Buffalo, Green Bay, Miami...you could even argue he didn't do this against the Jets because 7 points were from Mundy's INT return) they can't even do that. At least part of that lack of production is the responsibility of Jay Cutler.

The defense is actually playing about what you'd expect for how they are paid.

Once again though, the biggest problems on this team are Emery and Trestman. Both should be fired at the end of the year. Do you agree? Unless you are willing to say that both of them should be fired at the end of the year you need to drop the "NOTALLCUTLER!" defense.

I like how the Cutler defense has gone from actually defending him to (now) not necessarily defending him but saying people are focusing on the wrong things.

He's our $100 million quarterback! Leave him alone!

Can't we all agree that everything about this team is bad?

With the possible exception of Forte and Ratliff.

I agree they should be fired. Certainly Trestman. The last few weeks the Bears have appeared to have zero game plan and have looked clueless. At least Emery has had a couple of successful moves to point at.

The BIGGEST problem with this team IMO are the McCaskey's and Ted Philips.

Yes, this is why there is no doubt that Emery and Trestman need to be fired. Of course the defense is bad, but they aren't paid to be good. They have a very low amount of money dedicated to defense because they are paying big money to multiple guys on offense. They've done everything they could to make this an elite offense.

The QB will always take the most heat. Its just the way it is.

And Cutler is an underachieving douchebag. Not sure why you feel sympathy for him

Yes. I think everyone does.

But when everything is bad, it stands to reason that people will focus on the $100 million franchise QB more than a league minimum safety.

Yes.

It starts at the top. The McCaskeys have no clue who to put in charge.

It's not even that. He is the highest paid quarterback in the league. It makes a huge difference to the overall makeup of the team, especially when so much other money is spent to make him look good.

The true irony here is that what the Jay Cutler era has brought is the Bears abandoning trying to build a really good defense like they had always done and they went all-in on offense.

Like Hawk says about baseball stats, don't tell me what you hit, tell me when you hit 'em.

Cutler hasnot been good enough when it mattered most, Nas. Even you agree with that;

So next year when he's not in the top-10 of highest paid, the complaining and over-focusing on him will drop as well?

Of course not. You complained about him every day when he made next to nothing. WYC?

You are the one acting like everyone is saying Jay Cutler is the only problem. You kind of kill your own argument if you think it is assumed that everyone hates Emery/Trestman.

I agree Trestman should be fired. If your genius offensive schemes can be nullified by switching to a zone defense, then I'm a genius, too.

They spent money on the defense. They drafted defense. This defense isn't supposed to be top 5 but they should be able to stop people. There's some talent there.

Cutler is the highest paid player this year because of Cliff Stein's geniusness in pushing an extra $5 mil this year for cap issue details. That said, Cutler needs to play better. But, I don't think Trestman is doing much to help out in that concern. I think the playbook gets smaller every week. It's like they have 4 plays.

All I can see in this post is "Cutler needs to play better". The rest doesn't matter because Cutler makes more $$

I completely agree
