They could replace him in 10 minutes with a guy just as capable

why is anybody protecting Renteria? He's a nobody. Cubs shouldn't have hired him to begin with. Shed no tears for the guy, he's not even Paul Westhead.

He wasn't a "nobody" until Joe Maddon became available. Before that he was the Latino whisperer who got Castro (and Rizzo) back on track.

Of course, I'd heard of him. He was the hot guy along with Lovullo and Dave Martinez. He wasn't a "nobody" who Theo plucked from obscurity.

I believe you're misremembering. He was considered a guy who was great with young players and with Latinos. He was some bizarre outre selection from nowhere like Robin Ventura being dragged off a high school diamond.

After 105 years (or 34 in my case) Im in "Just win" mode. I have no patience for much else. Its the same reason I dont get involved much in the Wrigley-Rooftop-Schaumburg stadium deal

rpb will be fine. He is compensated well enough to handle my responses.

Well, Ventura was a fucking shocker out of nowhere. I wasnt saying that

I know Dave Martinez was a big name. Ill look in the thread and see how Renteria was talked about

We're actually looking for his replacement. But we still respect his work.
