Been thinking about the sports talk landscape in Chicago and I equate it to restaurants.
ESPN- Has the big sign outside so it captures a lot of eyes. Once in they have some really good fare which is served with great customer service. They are a chain restaurant but they serve some really good local meals because they've hired local chefs who know what their city eats. Their main problems are that their menu is too big and they stop serving their best selling food at ten most nights.
Score- The original place that everyone tells you that you have to try. Once inside you notice that they only cook 5 things and a few daily specials and that's it. But once you try those items you know that the chefs really know what they're doing, especially with their main dish The Beloved Grilled Bear. The main problems are that sometimes the people serving you are dicks and not a lot of meal choices.
Game- Startup spot with some good chef pickups that helped with some great clientele. Their problem is that you can't sample it for yourself because most can't find the restaurant because the street they're on isn't on most maps/GPS systems.
Is that a fair assessment?

That's not bad. Love that he admits that the "chefs" can be dicks at his station. Waiting for Beardown's thoughts.

It seems that Herb understands food more than radio.

Surface fluff. I need analysis of Bernstein's repressed desire to be cuckolded by a large black man, Terry's latent homosexuality, Hanley's obvious homosexuality, and Mully's inability to end an interview without uttering "One last thing before we let you go..."

I wouldn't be shocked to hear that the chefs in this analogy are the callers

I would add that the decor at the Score is dated and in need of cleaning.

Especially those that claim they can't stand the food.

You would have thought another host would have thought of this.

But I would rewrite the Scores review.

Score - It's that place that is living on it's reputation. When they opened they had the best burger in town, hand packed about 1/2 pound or more, cooked perfect, classic photos on the all, great personality and atmosphere. Now they redid the place and the burgers are frozen, pre made, same with the fries, the counters are new, they redid the pictures on the walls and of course you can now buy a similar franchise to open in Miami if you want.
