And Aoki smoked the ball right at someone, isn't that the job of the hitter?

i'm pretty much convinced that fox broadcasts the games for people who don't watch the game. they care way more about reeling in the new/casual viewer than they do servicing the person who actually sits down to watch the game as appointment television.

i wouldn't be surprised if some marketing major told them that these EXTREME CLOSEUPS!!1 (WHOOOAAA!!!) of the players faces emphasize the "human side of the game" which is just an euphemism for "chicks who don't like baseball can dig this" like all of those "human interest" pieces that talk about any given player's family member who is struggling with X.

They want the new customer. They know you'll watch no matter what because you love the game.

So tonight is the last night I have to see the Steven Hawking looking Bud Selig worm his way into my living room?

Took the bat out of Escobars hands and let Bumgarner only have to get two outs

You think it was a smart move or are you just defending everything he does now?

I forgot Yost was on that 82 team. He's always been your guy right?

They have to get a run off Bumgarner. Looking harder and harder to do.

If they dont... I mean this would have to be the greatest world series performance ever, right?

Royals should probably not give away any more outs with bunts

It has to be up there with Schilling and Johnson in 2001. Three world series in 6 years to boot. Starting to have a nice career.

Yeah, I didn't understand that either. It offends my American League team senses.

Bumgarner, Jack Morris & Sandy Koufax have to be in the same discussion.

25 years old and assured he'll have his number retired. Pretty crazy

You can argue that he should be the MVP win or lose.

it's times like this where i'm like "yep, i drafted madison bumgarner really early in the 2011 sandlot league draft (at a time when everyone was drafting really-good-now pitchers) for a reason"

of course, the more innings i see him go out there the more i'm convinced his arm's going to blow up next season when i look to defend my sandlot league crown. i only had matt moore jose fernandez and yu darvish go down this year after kershaw scared the living shit out of me early in the season.

Big Fat Panda just keeps hitting and hitting and hitting. He's been really good with the glove too.

Going on the whole post season Hersheiser was probably better. He pitched in 4 games in the LCS

What an incredibly fun game this has been. Got a bit of offense to start and now its just great pitching and defense. A little something for everyone.

I'm calling it now. Royals tie in the 9th and win in the 13th.

He's the new Puckett/Gwynn...at least during the playoffs. I love this kid. He took crap for being out of shape, didn't really bitch and moan that many wanted him replaced, and now is going for ring #3.

And I will never understand how in the hell he has dancer's feet.

it doesn't hurt bumgarner's WS stats (16IP 7H 1ER 1BB 13K coming into tonight) that he's facing the fucking royals in the world series. their #3 hitter lorenzo cain had a smashing .751 OPS this season.

but hey i think i said on the board that if the royals were gonna contend for the WS they needed hosmer and moustakas to go and play like 30/100 guys for the playoffs, and while hosmer cooled down i think moustakas has 5HR this postseason so hey good job you royals!

47 pitches and counting.... yeargh.
