My thoughts: Mac realized he fucked up with his decision. Realized he's not gonna write a book or live in a log cabin. Wife probably threw the cold water in his face. So he's gonna take less money than what he asked of Zim and Mitch. Gotta be less. THE GAME can't afford even the 300k that THE SCORE was offering Mac. Let alone the 500k he was asking.

I'll say he's getting 150k on a one year deal. Mac's hoping he gets the listeners and then can double it after a year.

So he's gonna try to beat his enemy, Bernstein. He won't. They're just too powerful with their established brand and the better frequency. But he'll at least put THE GAME on the map. He'll take away more from Waddle and Silvy than he will from B&B.

He'll bring Finfer to afternoons. Harry stays. The other guy goes to middays. That's what I predicted a while ago.

Why would a station hire him and debut him as a full-time host in mid-december? That's probably the lowest rated two week stretch in radio for the whole year. If he was going full time somewhere, they would hold off his debut until after the new year. You don't make major moves in radio right before xmas.

Oh I'm sure it's big news; I mean, that's what you do when there's some big news to announce - not announce what it is.

This 'announcement' has all the majesty Mac is like Hubert J. Farnsworth with Alzheimers ... "Good News, Everyone!", then he stands there for a beat, then quietly shambles out of the room.

For him to be back,I would have to notice he is gone. I soured on the fact that along with his buddy,Terry, he admits to not following certain major sports. His love for the NHL would have interested me back in the 1970's when I knew guys from every team. Right now,I'd be lucky to name 8 guys on the Hawks BUT I'm not on sportstalk radio. I find it unacceptable to not follow some NBA at least.

What is going to happen is so obvious that it defies explanation why anyone doesn't see it.

The only thing that isn't obvious is the exact time slot but I would guess that Harry, Spike, and Payton will be earlier.
