09" Cincinnati game hurt but the nail in the coffin was the Giants game in 2010. The Eagles playoff game was bad too.

This game approached the levels of futility of the Jan '89 NFC title game vs. the Niners, or the game in '91 where the Niners put up a 50 burger, or the Chester Marcol game, or even the Henry Burris game.

This was the worst. coming off a bye, everyone healthy, no excuses. Every phase out gunned. out coached.

I think by the numbers, this game is probably the worst in history, but the worst I ever felt about a Bears game was that 91 Christmas Eve Eve game. Probably because of expectations going in -- I felt we were going to get killed for sure in this one.

Edit: Also add Wayne Fontes with that stupid cigar.

The eye is drawn to the other team's large score, at the cost of inappropriately passing by the fact that the vaunted greatest offense the Bears have ever assembled couldn't do dick against a shit defense twice successively, with a bye week in between to right the wrongs of the first failed feeble fecal frenzy.

There was one in SF when the Bears failed to get past midfield. I think it was the game when TO set the record for most catches in a game. The crap all starts to blur at some point.

The Atlanta game a few years ago where the Bears took the lead late, kicked the ball out of bounds, and then let the birds complete a pass to set themselves up for the winning FG.

Sunday night against the Packers, worst. game. ever. Why? Because they stunk up the place the previous game and only went to new heights of ineptness. Take any past humiliating loss and the following week they at least resembled a NFL team, they at least played the game close enough to be respectable. This loss was something I've only seen on the Pee-Wee league level. They set a record for most first half points surrendered, which broke the record for the previous week. The trend over the past three games is an offense that has become less and less effective. Less than 50 yards 1st half offense. They don't just bend on defense, they give up joke touchdowns. They have become a national laughingstock. 20 minutes in and they are down by 5 touchdowns. The punter had a punt blocked, by the opponent's foot.



The only thing left is to watch them make a hit and knock the ball loose, grab the fumble, and then run the wrong way and out of the endzone in celebration.

1989 NFC Championship Game: The game that killed Bear Weather in a lot of people's minds. San Francisco pummeled the Bears at home 28-3.

For me it was last night. I echo big fans thoughts. Having two weeks to get ready for it and
no major injuries to key players. This is easily the most unlikeable Bears team I can remember.
The thought of 7 more games makes me feel sick to my stomach.

The 1989 NFC Championship game was the end of the greatest Bear run ever. And you knew it was the end and that makes it the worst.

The Halloween game was the definitive end of the Bears domination of the division. And that sucked too.

This game wasn't even really a surprise. But, it is putting the Bears back to the early-1970s level of bad. Trestman has set the franchise back 40 years.

2) Under Lovie,just a few short years ago,the Bears lost to NE like 48-14.

Forget specific games, this team in general is an all new low.
1) This is clearly the poorest collection of talent
2) Worst coaching staff
3) The team has quit on the head coach
4) The team is VERY un-likeable.

Say what you want about Lovie, Jauron, or Wanny....no team ever quit on them. This is truly the worst.

2001 Eagles playoff loss was a stomach punch for me.

My Love for Lovie was often stated on these boards. You always felt like his teams were about to go off the rails, and yet they rallied behind him and gave a good effort. He had a decent regular season record. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out for him in Tampa.

The Bears had a chance to show some heart yesterday and instead confirmed that the team has quit. The Bears are blowing a chance with so much offensive talent that has turned out to be offensive to its viewers.

I know the end made things worse for me but they had a legitimate shot at winning the Super Bowl.

Trestman is the greatest thing to happen to Lovie in this town.

Pretty much everybody was good with moving on from Lovie and now everybody is looking back fondly on the Lovie Era, myself included. Lovie will never have to buy another meal in this town.

the worst game was in 2011 against the chiefs at soldier field. the week before jay had broke his thumb against the chargers after leading them to 7-3, and then starting the next week it was the caleb hanie experience which led to them going on a bigtime losing streak including the tebow/marion-barber game, and then by the last week of the season it was pretty much over and you lost johnny knox in the last week against.... shit was it the seahawks? yes it was the seahawks in the final home game which they lost 38-14 and johnny knox's career ended right then and there.

but that chiefs game was the worst. it was genetically engineered to kick bears fans in the dick. you thought that all you gotta do is win a couple games out of the next 5-6 and you'll make the playoffs and jay could come back and that 7-3 team or whatever would go out there and have a shot in the playoffs. so how bad can hanie be? well the game was a 10-3 loss to the TYLER FUCKING PALKO and the chiefs (who would go on to get kyle orton so we couldn't) who somehow mustered a touchdown right before the half and a 2nd half FG to go from 0-3 to 10-3, and then you kept thinking if hanie (11/24 133yds 0TD 3INT) could lead them on one drive you could tie it up and the bears were obviously the better team, so that's all they had to do.

in the 4th quarter the bears had that drive, they got down to the chiefs goal line and hanie threw a pass to roy williams, who caught it and then brought the ball across the plane only to let it fly out of his hands into the chiefs DB's hands for an INT and a touchback. after that it was over, all over, and the bears lost 10-3. utterly fucking miserable game and i doubt that can be topped cuz when something like last night happens, well, you just kind of go along with it. the chiefs game was way worse.

Last night was the worst effort I've ever seen.
Game that hit me the most was the 2010 (technically 2011) NFC title game. I remember after that game going for a run and ended up running like 18 miles. I couldn't walk the next day and I can't even explain why, don't know if it was Cutler going down (and really the end of the honeymoon part of the Cutler era with it), or if it was Green Bay in the playoffs, or what but it really bugged me.

I believe this was going to happen after Lovie no matter what. Keeping Lovie would have delayed it a few years (maybe) although the d might have fallen apart under him anyway - might not have been this ugly - but it was going to start falling apart. Peppers didn't do much his last year with us. Url was getting old and not good. They still wouldn't have dbs.

Possibly the worst game I remember seeing is when Favre threw six picks against the Rams in the playoffs. Maybe 2001 or 2002.

This game against Packers has to be the single worst game. I've never seen a team lay down and quit. it clearly has happened here. that's the worst.

I think firing Lovie had more to do with contract status. I'm guessing he had 1 year remaining, which is naturally the time you would talk extension. Emery probably wanted his own coach and Lovie I would guess new there was a brighter future elsewhere.

As has been said already, Trestman is making Lovie look really good. team wouldn't be much better in the standings, but they certainly wouldn't have quit.
