Mark fucking Sanchez put up better numbers in a win last night than Cutler has since last year. He was able to lead his team to a 27-7 halftime lead. Why hasn't Cutler been able to do this even once this year, Nas?

Nas has said Cutler should have been benched. Since you never bench franchise QBs when you need points, I assume Nas is finally ready to abandon Cutler's bandwagon.

For his safety.

Yes, running after DTs and CBs who intercept his passes is probably not safe for his health. The Cutler era ended. He neither sucked or excelled. It was a bunch of meh with promises of something better that for one reason or another never materialized.

The Cutler era will be remembered as perhaps the biggest disaster in Bears history. It will take years to get out of this mess they made.

I wouldn't say it was a disaster. They were a game away from the SB in 2011 with a crap offense. They looked good in 2012 at 10-6 but didn't make the playoffs. Acquiring weapons took some time but failing to find the right system on offense for so long was inexcusable. In 2009, you definitely make the move to acquire a 25 year old Pro Bowl QB.

That's like saying stepping on a solid dog turd is better than stepping in dog diarrhea. Cutler hasn't done shit for this team and is declining rapidly. He tunes coaches out and has no fucking regard for this team.

He is just one more cherry on top of the embarrassment sundae that is the Chicago Bears.

He wants to win but he's tired of being around incompetent coaches.

I agree with this a lot, this current coaching staff is god awful.

No, both are true. Cutler sucks, and so do most coaches. Still willing to give Trestman a shot, but that window is closing fast. WTF are you doing giving up 50 points in back to back games? Fire your damn DC already and show some leadership. If he doesn't win the locker room back then it's all over, even if he rights the ship on offense.

If he really wanted to win, as you claim, he would not have signed that deal and went elsewhere. He knew Emery, Trestman, the rest oc the bad coaching staff, and the circus that is Bears management before they even started negotiating.

He signed the deal because it was easy money. Cutler has gotten paid, and now has become complacent. His play on the field and his attitude on and off the field have shown it.

So last year when they were throwing it up and down the field at will it was "See, finally Jay has some weapons to throw to. " This year they suck and its the coaches fault. Right.

I don't see the "other side" in this. You're either done with Cutler or you're down with 3-6 and an impotent offense for a team on which offense is the supposed strength.

Yes Rogue, I believe the head coach is majorly responsible for that shit show that is going on down in Chicago right now.

At what point are the players to blame? They've scored 7 first half points the last 3 games. The fucking 85 bears defense would have a hard time winning those 3 games with that offensive production.

There is a great irony here that a guy hand picked to fix Jay Cutler, including being interviewed by Cutler before he got the job, is being blamed for Jay Cutler's poor recent performance.

Do you think Ditka was a good head coach every year? Because he was good enough when his team was dominating in the mid 80's.
Trestman was good enough last year so he must be good enough this year, right?

They are all to blame but the head coach has to and should take the most. There is no way this team is even close to prepared week in and week out.

Spany, did Ditka's ( or Wanny's, or Lovie's, or Jauron's) team ever give up 50+ points in back to back games? Did any of those coaches kick a FG on 2nd down in overtime? Did any of those coaches over see an offense, defense, and/or special teams that looks so clueless week after week?

Any player/coach can have a bad game. Trestman has had a historically bad season. I think its pretty clear that more than just a small problem with the Bears.

Its is indeed a shame that Trestman isn't prepared to hit a receiver in stride, to not force a ball into double coverage or throw a quail off his back foot. How many times does the announcer or someone else say the next day after watching the film that someone else was wide open but Cutler didn't see him? They've gotten their asses torn up the last 2 weeks by 2 of the best qb's to ever play the game but the fucking players are just as much to blame for that as any coach.

Frank, I'm not supporting Trestman. I'm saying the opposite.
I was responding to the discussion between BRogue and Hawg.

I know the opinion has been expressed here that Cutler's salary is immaterial. But you can see how ridiculous such a thought is now that people are actually starting to talk about benching him. An NFL team can't just sit 126 million bucks on the bench. It's a fucking disaster. The Bears are married to Cutler, at least for awhile.

That's why a better move would have been to let "Losing Quarterback" Jay Cutler go lose somewhere else and sign McCown to do whatever he was going to do while you looked for your franchise quarterback.

If they had McCown they might've only won 2 games instead of 3 .

Right. But they wouldn't be locked in to this turd.

Its $54 million, and why not? If the guys sucks you bench him. Its no different than a big $ starting pitcher who goes to the bullpen because he sucks.

I don't think I have said anywhere that the players aren't to fault also, I just think your Head Coach is way out over his skis and now can't control the locker room or anything that happens on the field.

I watched another NFL coach kick on 1st down on Sunday in overtime.
