well, it's official, Harbaugh to Bears equals Joe Maddon to Cubs.

The Bears should take note of what Theo did when he had the chance. Improve your team and organization. Upgrade the head coach position.

NO other team in sports would be allowed to do what Theo did. 'Um yeah, we are going to suck dong for 4 years - with the hope that we'll be good after that - but we'd still like you to spend a lot of money to come to the games, pay $60 to park and buy $9 beers. For 4 seasons'.

It's bizarre, but I can't think of another franchise in sports in which the GM would be given them much of a rope.

what I meant was, the Bears should fire Trestman if they have a chance to hire Harbaugh.

Dan just loves his opportunities to bash Marshall and lay all the blame there.

By all accounts, Marshall was the only one giving any sort of effort last night.

Marshall has under performed this season, probably a combination of his ankle injuries, and the offensive issues. I don't think age is a factor (yet) nor do I think his TV show is too blame although that should be put to an end.

I don't see him as an issue or a problem, there are much bigger issues here, and he did play hard last night, one of the few.

Bernstein had no problems with Marshall when he was acquired, and all of the off the field issues were well known. For whatever reason, since that press conference, he uses any reason to bash Marshall, no matter how petty.

Don't make it more than it is. He's not the only problem. I'm saying there are reasons to question his dedication, even if he yells a lot and put up good numbers in garbage time last night.

The guy has played through injuries this season, maybe not well at times, but I don't see him as an issue at all.

Yeah. How dare I think Brandon Marshall isn't a great influence in the locker room. No reason to ever think that.

This disaster of a season can't be put at all on the guy who has been a disaster in the locker room his whole career.

Locker room distractions (in no particular order):
  • Bullies
  • Homophobes
  • Racists
  • Guys who try to sleep with a player's wife/girlfriend
  • Guys who try to sleep with a player's mom/sister
  • Guys who fight with other players
  • Guys who fight with coaches
  • Guys with a sick sense of humor/amusement
  • Guys with an alcohol/substance abuse problem
  • Media Snitches

And, I guess we should now add guys who hold a press conference (not in the locker room) and who get vocal after a loss to their former team.

It doesn't surprise me that B&B focus their scrutiny on select players for arbitrary reasons, but as I was listening (briefly) to them talking to Jonathan Bostic it struck me that they ask him questions to which they deride others for providing comment/answers. At one point, they wondered who was the voice challenging other players when a player makes a mistake (resulting in a score) or when they are getting their asses handed to them? As usual, they are so far out in front of everyone else that they end up running up their own asses the moment they realize they're blazing into the wrong direction.

They all loved Marshall's openness with his disorder before. Maybe part of the problem Bernstein has with him is that he is on another station opposite of B&B
