He said today that he skips games because he is worried about pain in the future when he attends board meetings.

I cant believe he admitted to caring more about his health than his titles. This is pro league. People watch because you're putting your body in a fire. No real NBA player would say this. Hell even jay cutler cares about the game more. Fucking rediculous

Doesn't that imply he is scared and has lost confidence.

How are more Bulls fans not losing their mind over this? I don't watch but Nick Friedell can't stop kissing his ass. He insists the team and everybody else loves him because they know they can't win a championship without Rose. WTF? I'd be freaking livid if I were on his team. He hasn't played in 2.5 years and is worried about walking at his son's graduation. It's bizarre. NBA players have too much control over their team.

Yeah, that about say's it all. I can tell he's not too bright but you think with all the millions he is worth he'd have somebody teach him how to act and what to say to please White America.

His comments have to rank up there with the worst ever spouted by an athlete. They are absolutely mind-blowing. He's worried about soreness that he may experience in some meeting or event after he retires? WHAT THE FUCK!

i think bernstein has this one right. the guy is just dumb as shit. but im almost glad derrick admitted this, because for years we have all questioned his determination to play and we were right about that.

can you imagine what he would be if he had kobe's or jordan's killer instinct?

i never want to hear about thibs playing this guy too many minutes. especially after these remarks, i would pencil him in for 50 min per game.

one thing i used to say about derrick was that he always had heart... you couldn't take that away from him. case in point in the 2010-11 season when they made it to the eastern conference finals vs the heat and lebron got put on him for an easy 4-1 loss he stood up and said he choked and he let the team down and etc etc... all factually true.

but then the next season he started getting injured (didn't he miss like 20-30 games in the 11-12 regular season?) and then of course he blew out his knee, sandbagged on #TheReturn (i remember going to the ~march 2013 CSFMB bulls game thinking "wow he should be back by then") and then came back and fucked up the other knee in under 15 games? hey at least he's back before next year to be honest.

quoteth chris rock on OJ: "now i'm not saying he shoulda [said that]....... BUT I UNDERSTAND"

of course when you're gonna be worth ~250mil at least it's pretty hard for us to understand. i told my grandfather about his quotes and he retorted "do you think the guys building the house next door wanna get sore for their kids' graduations?" touche. but then again when you've had a skittles machine in your house since before you could legally drink you do kind of get steve jobs' old "reality distortion field" going on

I thought this was a joke. He's a complete fucking idiot and I wouldn't want to play with him. How does Noah and others who play injured and hurt feel when they hear that?

Carmelo Anthony was expected to pass up 40-50 Million for the opportunity to play with this guy.

On the list of reasons to respect Noah, one should probably consider adding a bulletpoint for, in some for or fashion, keeping his private thoughts out of the public's eye.

On some level you can congratulate Rose for at least clarifying why he chose to sit out two yrs ago after the doctors cleared him to play. For all the people (Sam Smith where are you?) that believed his bullshit about not being available this pretty much clears everything up

Marshmelo > Gasol. The Bulls may be to win a championship without Rose being a contributing member of this team. They definitely could have won without Rose if you replaced Gasol with Marshmelo. This is arguably the deepest team in the NBA.

I would absolutely love to see the Bulls win a title with Rose sitting on the sidelines in a suit. I really can't stand him anymore.

It's in the top 5 of dumbest things a "star" athlete can say. I wouldn't let him in the locker room. He doesn't have any fight in him.

I don't know about that. He has to come here thinking that he would play with Rose. I wonder what guys around the NBA privately thought about Rose and his toughness during the past 2-3 yrs.

There is no way the Bulls win a championship with Taj as your starting four. I will save that for another thread

Probably the same thing we did. We were wrong though. We thought he was mentally weak but the reality is he is selfish and lacks heart.

This next contract is going to be critical. You cannot tie up money with him again. Its going to be interesting when it becomes time to assess his value.

I suspected this sort of thing and even the comments about not wanting to play when he is not 100%. I think it has something to do with high school strangely enough. I remember when he was at Simeon there was a game between Simeon and Eric Gordon's team from Indianapolis. Gordon scored 33 points as I remember it and Rose scored 8. Simeon also lost the game and all the talk was about how Gordon severely outplayed Rose. Later it came out that Rose had some type of stomach virus and that was the reason that he did not play well. I believe that has something to do with his refusal to play when he is not 100%. I thought it was run of the mill excuse making but maybe he doesn't want to get caught off guard ever again. WHo knows with this guy.
