Its all relative . Our average salary isn't 4.5 million either. This isn't a machinist making 45k a year getting screwed out of 3.5% over 3 year kind of stuff. The amount of money makes a difference here. To Nas' point, thats why people tend to side with the owners.

If the owners were saying something like, "we can lower ticket costs and concessions by X% so working families can afford to bring their children to a game", then that would be something I could support, but we all know that is not going to happen. It's just billionaires trying to squeeze more profits out of millionaires. I'm just not sure why the millionaires are the bad guys here.

I really doubt that. The race card was never played during the previous lockout, except in minor stories like Bill Simmons saying players lacked the intellectual capital to negotiate with the owners. The "misogyny card" or whatever the fuck it would be called would be much less applicable than that. I can't really think of a purpose it would serve, and this chick doesn't seem to be an incompetent dumbass like Billy Hunter.

As far as the racial aspect of siding with ownership goes, it bears mentioning that a good deal of hockey fans were pro-ownership during the 2012 lockout -- overwhelmingly so in the South, of course, but even as much as 50/50 among East Coast fans. It doesn't have to be about race. People are just dumb sometimes.
