10 seasons with the Bulls, maybe more
4th in games played, soon to pass Jerry Sloan
6th in minutes played, soon to pass Bob Love and also Luol Deng
1st in threes
4th in assists behind Jordan, Pippen, and Van Lier
Big part of the team's renaissance, such as it is, coming out of the post-Jordan lull

I say yes.

At least a statue, or a personal services contract in a desk somewhere.

He'll get a coaching spot. If successful, then we can talk about a statue for lifetime contributions as Captain Kirk.

He has consistently been my second favorite player on the Bulls over the last decade. The Bulls didn't really miss a beat with the wasted Jay Williams pick.

He will, but he shouldn't.

Kirk's 2nd stint with this team has just been infuriating. He was brought in to be a guy off the bench. I would have been fine with that role, and he probably would have excelled at it. But because of injuries to Rose or Butler, he has probably started 99.9% of the games he has played in, and has been exposed for what he currently is. If I would have bumped into him after that overtime playoff game against the wizards last season, I may have killed him.

There should be some recognition just beneath jersey retirement

Yes,I agree. I know I'm old but guys like Chet "The Jet" Walker (Mr. one on one) & Tom Boerwinkle,Guy Rodgers and maybe Artis Gilmore(?) should have their jerseys come under consideration to have been retired first.

Annual pizza party at the restaurant of his choosing. He is allowed to invite five of his closest friends/family members. (drinks not included)

like what he does, but the guy has the worst on court persona. Never committed a foul, is in the ref's ear constantly. Almost as bad as Andres Nocioni.

Kirk is one of my all time fav Bulls. He plays to the max for what he has. His biggest downfall was the Heat got to Wade before the Bulls could. What was unfair to him was the Bulls making him the face of the franchise during those God awful years. He was made to guard small forwards and sacrifice his body. People hated those teams and so hated him. Kirk IMO could be a starting PG on a championship team. He won't hurt you. Play good defense and keep the other team honest enough with his range.

The guy has shot 41% for his career. 38% from 3-point range. How is this possible? with a man within 5 feet of him, he has no chance.

38% from 3 is not terrible. That's good for 112th all time.

How many easy, high percentage looks do you think he gets per season? Im guessing like 7.

Is this topic serious? This would be 10 times more embarrassing than the Cavs retiring Zydrunas' number, and I thought that was a satirical headline when I first read it.

I'll never forget when Frank Williams dogged him in the Elite 8.

Now 3rd in games played, 4th in minutes played, and 3rd in assists. 1st in threes, 254 ahead of Ben Gordon (torch!). Kirk Hinrich is a great Chicago Bull.

The retired club should stand pat as it is : Sloan,Love, MJ,Pippen; Krause and Jackson

But if Kirk is up for it, also in the mix should be : Rodman, Horace, Oakley, Chet Walker, Dick Motta, RedKerr
