hats off (in both senses of the term) to BioWare, who is already renown to be on the cutting edge of inclusive video game design/production..... ERM I'M SORRY, i mean ARTISTIC design/production, because the following video game clip i offer to you totally transcends the niche of "video games" and totally enters the realm of "art" and not just "art" but "socially conscious and PROGRESSIVE art that makes sure to include everyone in their target demographic.

click here to be transported to an important exhibition of artistic greatness that hearkens a veritable tomorrowland, erm, todayworld, of all colors shapes sizes and lifestyles and etc etc. this is your endgame for SJW types wanting video games to be semi-interactive ART as opposed to, you know, games.... everything has social ramifications. everything has to do its part to preach a message and indoctrinate people to once-fringes-of-culture/society and in the end instead of focusing on, say, gameplay, mechanics, physics, aesthetics, etc (cuz remember "fun" is what you say about a video game when you have NOTHING to say about it and it's IMPORTANT message for society) we focus on the "ART" aspect of video games, which is on full hilarious display here

and yeah, don't worry.... it only gets better and way more inclusive from here. idk if it will be funnier.... but this is the kind of platform that video games are becoming; semi-interactive CGI movies/episodic-television (with the next episode available as $20-per-episode DLC which of course is actually downloaded in the day-of-release mandatory 16GB downloadabe-content) that beyond any sort of focus on, you know, the actual game, has to focus on what kind of a message it's giving out to people.... because if it doesnt go out of its way to be what the fringey minority of SJWs want it to be, man, we won't get groundbreaking artistic stuff like the link i just gave you. we'll get patriarchal oppressive CRAP with zero social responsibility like pac man.

of course, if pacman was released today for modern consoles it'd be something like this

honorable mention to the best gamers for giving the legend of zelda a much needed update that's cognizant of today's need for ART WITH SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.

END OF LINE

hey man, call it theatre of the mind call it what you will.... but when i pictured the business end of the bull dude up in the other guy's "cubbyhole" "IT'S STILL REAL TO ME DAMMIT!!!!!" *SOBS* </wrestlingfanguyonthattalkshow>

but yeah.... fire is the other thing that i think is nigh impossible to render correctly. i miss the halcyon days of first-gen 3D/ish consoles with their little orange-n-reddish flickering triangles dancing til the end of time. no deluge of trilinear mip-map interpolation alongside 3 billion little triangles will make it quite look like proper FIRE! honorable mention to water.

TL;DR = theatre of the mind.... and nas, if you're talking about the graphics of a game that means you have nothing to say about it and its important message for society. and if that clip i gave wasn't a properly important message for future generations of humanity to be inclusive and literally ACCEPT THE BULL, then well i don't know what is

Bioware has been doing this for a while now (though I don't think you could have two dudes knocking boots until Mass Effect 3...not that I ever tried it...nor is there anything wrong with that sort of thing...ergo, concurrently </architect>)

When Mass Effect 4 comes out, I'm taking a week off of work.

First off, respect. That's some dedication. Now, that being said...

I have a hard time telling with BioWare since I'm not sure if there are cut-and-dry "teams" like there are with many other massive studios that simultaneously develop multiple titles at once, but I've been getting the feeling that the team that worked on the original trilogy are working on the brand new IP they very vaguely teased at E3 and that ME4 is being worked on by a different group of people.

edit: Wikipedia confirms this suspicion...Bioware Edmonton, who did the original trilogy, worked on DA: I and is now working on the new IP. The Montreal team, who is working on ME4, is a relatively new team.

So yeah, I'll give the same warning I give pretty much every time a new installment in a franchise is being developed by someone other than the original. Don't be shocked if the game isn't up to the same level. (See: Halo 4, Fallout New Vegas, pretty much every CoD since MW2, yada yada yada).
