I don't agree with that. A healthy Bulls team is probably the best in the East. It may not have anything to do with Cleveland collapsing. Cleveland lacks rim protection doesn't have a bench and also has a rookie coach.

I think the Miami.experience proved that the best squad is the team with the best players. Sure they lost twice but they had no problem crushing a MVP Rose on the way. By the way the Bulls depth doesn't matter if Rose isn't Rose anymore. There is no K Leonard on this team.

Butler is pretty good defensively. You can't compare Cleveland to Miami. Miami could be great defensively but Cleveland's ceiling defensively is "average".

Butler isn't a bad consolation though. I'm an Irving fan but I don't know if he and James will work. Wade was more established and Lebron had to respect the fact that Wade had a ring. It's different with Irving and Love. In watching their earlier games he is a lot more agitated than I've ever seen him.

Speaking of respect there may not be a person in the org. Including the owner that he feels he has to respect. That may turn out to be the biggest problem. It's obvious he was allowed to make personnel moves and his owner had to make concessions in order for him to sign

I'm not a LeBron hater anymore but he is going too far. Blatt had to elbow his way into a huddle against the Spurs. He's the coach and LeBron needs to fall back.

Do the Cavs panic and fire Blatt?

I think it might be early for that but surprisingly their offense is a problem. It's a lot of Lebron James trying to go one on one with Kyrie Irving making sure he isn't going to be left out. Offensively they are imbalanced and he is going to have to reign in Lebron James and that is going to be his biggest task in my opinion. James has the power to get him fired which makes it difficult for Blatt to effectively coach him. There isn't a Pat Riley anywhere in Cleveland's organization

I just can't see them paying 2 coaches all that money not to coach.

I don't think that Blatt's contract is that much. Brown's contract was huge and they are going to pay it anyway. Blatt is unproven. I'm sure his contract wouldn't be an impediment. If they determine that he is not the guy they're not going to hesitate because the Lebron James window is closing. It hasn't been talked about by the experts much but Lebron James is beginning to lose some of his athletic ability. He doesn't appear to be, running and jumping like he was just last yr. They can't afford to wait very long if it becomes obvious that Blatt is not the guy

I've been saying it for awhile, LTG. You are spot-on, as usual.

Why thank you. I did recall that someone on here did mention it. These weren't the "experts" I was, referencing though. I'm talking about the guys who get paid to do it. It's obvious
He is slowing down. It's early but he is getting a lot of charge calls meaning guys are beating him to the spot and when he attacks the rim he is not able to simply out jump guys. I began noticing it in the finals last yr. He was not able to simply dominate Leonard physically.

He is also settling for a lot of threes and his defense is regressing. When you begin to age your defense is always the first thing to slide and part of Cleveland's early woes defensively can be attributed to him.

I think he recognized it. That's why he tried to lose weight. He saw how it helped Kobe.

They have to give Blatt to at least xmas to get this thing together. If things are still bad after that, give Vinny a call.

Just watched the most awesome special ever on NBA TV, it was about the 4 for the Spurs and how they have hung together. I recorded it and my son will watch.

I caught that. Very well done. The 4 of those guys couldn't be any more different from one another, but all seem to be so close.

That was crazy, bullshit sports can't bond groups of all kind together for a common purpose.

Yes he has. He is one of the fee guys that will take players especially superstar players to task. There are not a lot of them that will do it especially at ESPN. I also find that I learn a lot about the game from listening to him. He will typically go against conventional wisdom. TNT has far more guys that do it but outside of he and Van Gundy no one at ESPN does it.

Josh Smith and the Detroit Pistons have lost 13 straight. Meanwhile, his former team is riding are riding a 7 game winning streak, and are currently in 2nd place in the Eastern Conference. Long Time Guy needs to start backing winners, and stay away from losers like J Smoove and Melo.

Didn't know that the Hawks had actually won anything. There winning streak is the longest since Josh Smith was on the team. The Knicks aren't good. Didn't think they would be good with or without Anthony. If he'd played better they may have won 2 or 3 more games. They stink. No surprises there

Jimmy Butler is clearly better than Marshmelo. I don't think anyone can dispute that.

We're you ever an honorary member of the Jessie White tumbling team? He probably is now. We will see going forward. If the guy is hurt he Butler should be better. You are also the guy banging the drums for Melo to take the two yr opt out and bet "on himself". It's obvious that betting on himself was not a good thing. This Melo not to the Bulls is going to work out for them and pay out to him everyone wins on this one.

Maybe the Bulls should offer Butler for Lance Stephenson now that Butler has upped his trade value to the point that he is as valuable as that budding all star.
