pizza_Place: Il Forno in Deerfield!

On Damen a half block north of Irving Park. Been meaning to try it for about a year, but forgot all about it till the weekend. Place is really cool. Thought it was only a to go place, but they have a few tables. Its like being in some grandma's kitchen when you walk in.

They basically only serve casseroles and you can get them in individual size or family size, but they recommend ordering the family size ones at least 24 hours in advance in case they run out.

We had the chicken pot pie and mac n cheese and it was soooo good.

Gonna go back and try some others.

The people working there were about the nicest I've ever seen in a restaurant. I walked in and the guy I spoke to on the phone came out from cooking in teh back to say hi since we had spoken earlier. Others did as well....everyone was so nice and wanted to explain different aspects of the restaurant. Cook came out and asked it it wsa ok to put chives on the mac n cheese.

:D :D :D :D out of :D :D :D :D

Edit: Now cue the predictable Guy Fieri mult comment about Johnny Garlics
