I tune into The Night Game...and Ben Finfer is there. For no other reason than, just because. Let it go, dude.

I think this is part of the reason the station didn't succeed. There isn't a single personality on any station in town who audiences want to hear all damn day, but for some reason they thought interjecting Finfer into the mix from nearly 9 AM until 3 PM was something people wanted. Also, the update people need to shut the fuck up unless they're going updates.

Go away, Julie DeCaro. Go away, Lauren Lapka. Go away, Brooke Weisbrod. Go away, Matt Abbattttacola. Go away, Kerry Sayers.

The Game gave the update people way too much airtime.

So, Jan 1 we get the NEW, ALL SPORTS 720 WGN, with Mike North in the Mornings, Danny Mac afternoon, Kapman for the evening show and Chet overnights. Give Finfer or one of the other no-names the midday and the updates, and make full use of the 50,000 watt blowtorch, with big-name guys willing to work for less than big-name money just to get back on the air.

I've reviewed the tape, a couple of them can stay.

Is there any chance of a 3rd sports station in this town realistically after the Game flopped?

I think so. 87.7 is not a frequency, which is just a massive problem. I'm not sure anything could have overcome that.

There is plenty of room for a 3rd sports radio station in a metropolitan area as large as Chicago. There are many smaller markets in the US who have 3 sports radio stations.

Just imagine this lineup...

Mac & either Finfer or Goff in morning drive
Murph & Fred in midday's
North & Jiggetts in afternoons

Not sure if Chet should have a day part here or not.
