I doubt that. I manage to watch those pukes 16 times a year without tossing my cookies!

I've heard that as well.

I've only been to the Naperville location, and it's above average...their sausage is really good.

Slot Frankfort and Mokena/New Lenox in between Homewood and Palos and you've got the list.

There was an Aurelio's in Boubonnais back in the day. I've never eaten there. I don't know if it's still there. I haven't been back up there in many years.

I wouldn't expect you to know better pizza because you live in Schaumburg. :)

But there are much better spots for deep dish. Including the departed Gino's East locations. And even Giordano's.

Lou Malnati's has no idea how to make a deep dish pizza crust. It takes like burnt toast.

If you're ever by me, we'll get some Tortorice's.

It tastes nothing like burnt toast. Their crust is awesome. That Gino's East place sucked. Giordanos is average deep dish. Your Malnatis thoughts are as wrong as your NBA thoughts.

It is unacceptable to eat bad pizza. No matter if you live in the city or suburbs. There are plenty of options.

I agree, which is why I agreed with Curious Hair. Have fun eating Totinos or whatever that place was called.

Which one? Near the Tivoli? That one's OK.

The one on Rt. 53 near 7 Bridges sucks.

The original in Homewood and the one in Frankfort are excellent.

Good to know it's not just me, I tried the one in 7 Bridges twice, both times it sucked ass, the sauce was like pure sugar...

You should check out Lucano's in Lisle if you haven't already, very good thin crust and good Giordano's type stuffed...

Yes, let's make fun of smaller, mom and pop owned pizza chains in favor of large pizza chains that ignore quality in favor of cheap, terrible lunch specials.

Never got a lunch special from there. Maybe that sucks for some reason, I'll concede that.

Fair enough. Most of the time I eat Lou's is at lunch and all they really have are several deep dish lunch specials that are terrible. Maybe they save the better ingredients for dinner time. But everything is supremely flavorless during lunch time at the AH Rd / Higgins location.

We used to go to Gino's East in Rolling Meadows for lunch before they closed. It was better.

It's annoying that the stepdaughter hates Aurelio's -- where else are you going to go in Homewood? She gets pasta or a sandwich when we go... if I'm ordering for delivery, I'm pressured into Domino's or Marcos, but kids have no tastebuds I suppose. Aurelio's a very good pizza IMHO.

I remember Aurelio's Pizza having a lot of salt and being greasey. Beggar's was my go-to.

We have awesome pizza in my area. Hitz (old Kaiser's), Bill's Pub, Rosati's, Pizza Italia, Emil's, Donati's...
So, when we go out or order in...we have to consider all options.

Aurelio's Pizza, a South and West suburban staple, will open its first Northwest suburban location in Arlington Heights early next year.

A plan to build the restaurant at 2944 W. Euclid Ave. received approval from the Arlington Heights village board on Monday, and owner George Vassos said he hopes to open in mid-March 2015.
The 5,100-square-foot restaurant will seat 183 people inside and have an outdoor seating area for 25, Vassos said. The restaurant will serve thin and thick crust pizza, meatball sandwiches, pasta, salads and other classic Italian dishes.

Forgot about this place and then saw the ad in the Herald today. I tried it with my wife. We had the thin crust sausage and green pepper. It was one of the tastiest thin crusts pizza's we ever had. The franchise owner was a young Greek guy. A south side staple now by the racetrack in AH.

Excellent service, order was super fast and a great pizza.

I'll be back!

Lou Malnati's crust is not good. I like deep dish, but their crust tastes like a vat of Crisco.

Gino's is my deep dish go to-the Libertyville location is really good...the Rolling Meadows location was fine.

I think Giordano's sucks.
