I don't think that Lovie is incorrect in saying he wouldn't be an NFL head coach if is were not for the Rooney Rule. Granted, It's like comparing the statement that Barry Bonds wouldn't be playing in MLB if it weren't for Jackie Robinson.....

Both are true, but the mass of the truths differ. Or am I way off here?

Anthony~I agree. I've spent more time thinking/talking about this than I've spent listening to Murphy in 15 years. Eough is enough I guess. I'll even go so far as to say I should have titled this thing differently. I don't know if he's all racist all the time. I should have called it MM's racist remarks.

Doug~Your rhetorical made me think of KCairo's reply, but he beat me to it. Without the Rooney Rule, maybe Lovie would have been interviewed or maybe he wouldn't have.

Assuming it's part of the reason, then I'm glad because I think Lovie's a great coach. And just think, we could have wound up with that pudwhack Nick Saban.
