No, you don't understand my entire point, I'll expand a bit: they've already made a poor choice, so there isn't really a difference in taking a chance on another guy outside of potential financial loss. It's already pointless to keep Trestman going forward, it's at least worth a look or a shot at another HC. If staying the course as is means cleaning house a year from now, then clean it now when you know it's already filthy.

Emery doesn't have to be part of the future here either.
it seems unlikely that Emery will be gone. So if Trestman is fired then you will have Emery picking the next coach. You will be stuck with that coach (and staff) for at least 2 more years. It's not a financial question as much as it is practical. That's the risk.

14 yards? Let's do it.

19? Nooooo, that's too far.

Probably don't have a 19 yard screen play in the playbook.

There is no risk in moving on from something that isn't working in favor of trying something different in an effort to improve your situation. It's common sense.

Or maybe not so common in the case of the Bears.

Tho, for shits; explain what the point of repeating a failure of a process over would be? I mean, after it doesn't work in season 3 they will be 'taking a risk' by going thru the process I'm saying they should go thru after this season, after next season by 'cleaning house' or whatever.

What's the point here exactly?

simply a question of whether Emery is part of the rebuild. My guess is both he and Trestman are back. If it's another disaster in 2015 then they're all gone. If Trestman goes then you better hope that Emery gets it right or the pain will be extended at least through 2016.

Anybody singing along to 'Bear Down' right now should be fist-fucked to death by Big Cat Williams.

Of course the Bears score in garbage time. -16 on the night, can't fire anyone for that!

It wouldn't be practical to bring back Trestman next year -Emery is borderline practicality wise.

By the way, I'm not debating what will most likely happen, just stating what should most likely happen. And when dealing with the Bears, those are completely different conversations.

In short, I agree that Emery and Trestman are back next year, I just don't believe that's what should happen. And a lot of the talking point excuses I hear/read from people about it shouldn't be acceptable.

Tirico announced that more than a third of the Bears' yardage (and I'd say maybe most of their points) this year have been in garbage time.
