The twitter account of Tom Crean is a joy.

Is he a 15 year old girl?

a 15 yr old would have enough sense to learn how to counter a zone defense.

This is what we call a dead cat bounce.

They look good now though. However, IU even when they are bad are really tough at home. Last years 17-15 team also had a bunch of big home wins.

Anything that keeps Crean there is good with me!

I'd be surprised if Stevens enjoys seeing that. The expectations would be so high for him at IU and there is a good chance he is simply a good coach who inherited a nice program and kept it moving.

I still see him at Duke after next year. They have even higher expectations but he'd also be inheriting another program ready made to win.

Report out this morning that if he does't beat Michigan St., he is done.

It was Bob Kravitz, and it is more or less his thoughts, but I believe he is in the know.

 Kravitz seems to be talking out both sides of his mouth.

He says this on twitter:

Bob Kravitz @bkravitz · 14h 14 hours ago
Haven't talked to Fred Glass yet, but I firmly believe Tom Crean is coaching for his job Saturday against Michigan State.

Then a couple hours later he posts this column:

RFDC I am sorry to report but your AD basically said that there is no way in hell he is firing Crean. :(

yeah I saw that. Not surprising

However, if they miss the tourney, the pressure from the fans is really going to amp up.

So who knows, but I expect he will be back for another year.

Lots of things pointing to Tom Crean being gone.

This one is one of the most interesting.
https://www.hoosiersportscamps.com/?pageId=150&eventTypeId=11#
Dates and times already set for the womens coach. Nothing for Crean.

An update on February 11th:

An update on 2015 Tom Crean summer basketball camp; this summer's Assembly Hall construction has delayed the finalization of dates, but we hope to have more information soon! www.hoosiersportscamps.com

Saw this on an article about Depaul

Quote:
Tom Crean, 48, head coach, Indiana — It’s been indicated throughout basketball circles that Crean is looking for an out at Indiana, collecting a hefty buyout and moving on to a fresh start. DePaul could be an excellent fit, a place where he has a better chance to succeed, with lowered expectations compared to those in Bloomington.

Er -- correct me if I've misheard, but recently Crean made a statement alluding to his having things on the uptick at Indiana. He'll be back next season.

I'm not an IU or DePaul fan, so I don't have a vested interest in his activities.

I will say that Crean coached better than Bill Self against Wichita State in the tourney and IU had a shot. Fred VanVleet ran through Kansas like an enema going through someone who already has diarrhea.
