For me it's being shocked that there could be a worse show than Carmen and Jurko (really great guys but dear God awful).
The show with Walter's kid, Harry and some lesbian looking guy named Spike makes my ears bleed.

Actually it's the stations good looking girls that actually can talk sports and not sound like they have a major brain injury (Kerry Sayers) or just drank a bottle of Boone's farm and chain smoked all night (Sarah Spain).

Just being able to listen to actual sports talk after 6 pm, when the other stations are playing college basketball, the NFL, or that raspy voiced mother fucker.

I have come to enjoy Kap and Finfer. They have avoided the BS of the B&B show and the perpetual negative attitude that permeates the Score.

Aside from Harry ( who actually did a decent job driving the show but had zero to work with) Spike and Jarrett I think the rest of the shows were pretty good. I listened to Quigs and Finfer a lot, better than Big Purple and Mannelly.

I'll miss the choice - period.

That extra option to tune in to another Chicago sports talk station.

We all have our favorite shows on 670 & 1000 but sometimes you just need to switch them off for a change.

The release of the ratings books where they ranked below college radio stations.

Wonder where all these people will go. Another market?

Finfer, McKnight, and Harry all seem like gimmes to be offered fill-in/weekend work at The Score, though.

Has anyone heard the story behind Dave Juday leaving 1000? Without SHARK around, I lose out on the inside dope (BITE).

Good line. She is not aging well at all. Might have been attractive at one time, but that time has passed.

I agree about Harry. He did an admirable job, with little help. Spike was a non-starter and Jarrett .....well, he definitely improved, but still not a strong presence. I will miss Harry on the radio, till he lands elsewhere. Kap is the other one I'll miss. He's energetic, well connected and positive. He's fun.

Their Saturday morning college football shows were refreshingly different from what is offered at 670 or 1000. Those two stations could really stand to incorporate the morning of intensive "college football tailgate" talk

I really liked having Jason Gotch and Jason McKie on while doing errands and stuff on the weekends. That was a pretty solid show.

I also agree with what several other people have mentioned:

1) Even if it didn't knock your socks off, if you were in the mood for sports talk it was often just nice to have an alternative to 670 and AM1000.
2) Their Saturday morning college football shows were good.

I downloaded my first podcast manager just so I can get their show.

Was about to say the same thing. Especially when ESPN 1000 was doing something national and The Score had White Sox baseball or Rongey shilling for White Sox baseball.

May I suggest to all the future radio jeaniuses that try to create a sports radio station in this city that an emphasis be placed on the morning show...

I'll miss podcast titles like this:

Quote:
George Cleans House & Hamp: 12/29/14 Hour 1

George cleaned Hamp? Did he groom him with his tongue like a cat?

There was an emphasis on that. And it was working out well too, especially for a station that half the local population couldn't even get.

Start with Kap and go from there. The rest of it was nothing anyone cared to listen to.

Yeah, I think the ratings showed that morning drive was almost respectable while the rest of the station was around 0.0, ergo the 0.4 cumes they'd get.

Brandmeier got a 1.4 I believe which was pretty amazing for that frequency and format.
