Whattaya making?

I was thinking homemade ravioli or something. I'm 0% Italian, so that might be kind of strange. I dunno. I'm tired of big chunks of roasted meat. Rack of lamb is great but I don't want to drop $200. I mean I could, I just don't feel like it.

any novel thoughts?

pierogi, polish sausage, lasagna have all been featured over the years. lotsa work in home-making the pierogi, last year I bought some at the small-town deli that weren't too bad. Grandma is opting for lasagna this year.

We'll be heading to Milwaukee 26-28th, the routine is Applebees up there, if we can get the F-I-L out of his care facility- locked in this year due to the flu...

We have Turkey on Christmas. Pretty much a Thanksgiving meal.

baked ham is inexpensive and fantastic

next morning, dice the leftovers and throw it in a pan with some scrambled eggs and some Pillsbury crescent rolls for a great and easy breakfast

My family used to do lasagna. Homemade gravy for the lasagna, the spaghetti and to simmer sausage, meatballs, pork and beef. To top it off, some fried calamari and baked clams.

Not sure what we are having this year. I think venison.

If the extended family comes over to my parents.....Brisket. There is no better excuse to get away from people than to head outside to constantly check the temperature and baste.

Frankly, Chinese food beats the hell out of most of the "traditional" dinners. :D
