Oh Dan.......here's what the problem is. Clausen is not "the savior". (Another strawman in a long line of them). The problem is he looked no worse than Cutler. At about 16,400,000 less.

And apparently Loho already consumed Dan's column. He's already referenced the Fox broadcast. Click.

What a totally awful read.....get rid of coach and GM and leave the pudwhack Cutler on the team...he just doesn't get it!

He really doesn't write well. Is this technically a "blog"? That way you do not have to be up to like newspaper standards?

he really doesnt and I haven't even looked at this column, but for a guy who really tries to skirt around being some sort of media maven and holds the "Senior" title, I would expect his topics to hold my interest for the 3 to 4 paragraphs he bangs out, like he is on deadline for a major paper, as he loves to make that image out.

We've suspected here that while there's a nominal "editor" for the Score's site, the editor isn't doing any editing, or else there wouldn't be so many misuses of the passive voice or sentences that get lost in themselves.

Every now and then, Dan does write a really good column, but when it comes to the weekly Bears pieces, his prose is somehow perfunctory and tortured at the same time.

He is by far his bggest fan of his writings.

I read part of that oil analogy thing, because I saw so many tweets about it from Score things saying I will laugh. I didnt expect to laugh, but expect to be able to finish it. It was like 4 short paragraphs, lack complete wit and generally sucked. Would rather read a bookie priest columN!

He'll come around in due time. He wouldn't miss quality Señoring like this.

I just can't see how this is possible, considering Cutler is the Greatest Quarterback in Chicago Bears History, according to B&B.

I think you're underestimating the love of Schmutzie, Maddux Boy, and Baffoe.

That article really had no point.

It's basically: Something that could have happened, didn't happen, so now that is not something we can point to happening.

His strawman is that people think Clausen (and McCown) are "better" than Cutler. Nobody really thinks that, even though if we're only measuring play on the field for the Chicago Bears, it's actually true.

He got so far out there insisting Cutler was great and yelling and screaming at those who disagreed that, in spite of the obvious fact that Cutler is a turd, he feels the need to somehow defend the indefensible and about the only way to do so is to compare him to a guy who just played his first game in five years.

One guy has the biggest cap hit in the league and the others you can get for near league minimum and the performance isn't markedly different. Write a fucking column about that.

Yup.

We can argue all we want about the "talent" of Jay Cutler but it pretty clearly isn't resulting in anything meaningful for the Chicago Bears going forward. Get out of it and move on. Other franchises have had to make the choice to move on from the "greatest qb in franchise history" too when it didn't make sense for the future of the team.

This line sums up the full idiocy of the column:

"There can be no “I told you so” for Trestman after his defiant move that was a clear attempt to expose his boss. Phil Emery tied himself and the franchise to Cutler, but Trestman gambled on a nothing-to-lose bet as he understands his firing is imminent. Despite some silly speculation to the contrary, even a win wouldn’t have rekindled his hopes to stay."

If you watched this game against all other games the Bears played against good teams, the difference was obvious. The Bears were wholly competitive. They played with heart. The team looked energized. Let's be honest, they are completely over matched in terms of on the field talent, and yet they hung in there all game with a chance to win on the last drive. This wasn't about "I told you so's", because we all know Pickle is not a quality QB. It was simply about sending a message to Cutler and the team, and then going out and looking like you belong against other NFL teams.

He wrote that Tuesday or Wednesday. That was as predictable as a "dunn is in the best shape of his life" spring training column

Would say I have read 4 or 5 of his 'columns' and they each seem to be about 2oo words long. They are like posts here, but with less thought than some.

He has admitted many times he has written the skeleton of his column in advance.
