That's been my point for years.

That doesn't work the same way though. Cutler wasn't brought in to be serviceable. Regardless of the defense and ST he needs to consistently play like he did the first quarter of the season. I know Trestman's play calling was responsible for some of it but he also quit the past few games. That's unacceptable.

What would possibly give you any indication that would have happened?

I would say that was a pretty good performance for a guy who hasn't started a game in 4 years.

I guess Shanahan is the last remaining thing to bring the greatness out of our elite QB.

Because that was probably the best game our defense and ST has played all season. Let's be honest if Cutler had produced at the level #8 did today we all would have complained. Especially considering how good the defense and ST looked most of the game.

Yes Nas....exactly right. We would have complained because Cutler is always supposed to put up better stats than a guy who hasn't started a game in four years. And how does our defense playing great equate a Bears victory with Cutler at QB?

Cutler won every game this season that our defense was good in. They were great for most of this game.

Yes. It does.
Same position, and results would be the same. If all of the other facets of the game were good, and the W/L results were the same, then whoever was QB would be "just fine".

If Cutler had McCown's same lame-ass stats, while going 7-1 last year, nobody would complain about Cutler.
But guys that can actually throw the ball don't have a scaled-down playbook. Blame the coaches for changing the game plan, not he QBs for throwing what they are asked to throw.

I'm going out on a limb and guessing that Bumpkin was a McCown guy too?

Cite me facts of how awesome Cutler is. He's fucking awful. He's been given the keys to the castle and hasn't done shit with them.

He doesn't even run the motherfucking offense how it should be.

Wake the fuck up.

Maybe the Bears miss Shlaussen a lot more than they thought. They played ok today without Long.

Suh had his way with the O-line today. Long played well against him last time.

  Nicely played.

Unfortunately for Bears fans, there are games when a QB has to put his team on his back and win games. We don't have that guy.

Don't need to. I want you to show me how great Cutler is. Cutler is a fucking bum. Claussen ran the West Coast offense as it should be run and did OK for being a back up.

Yes. The Bears had more yards against the Lions on Thanksgiving even though Forte only had 5 carries.

You give us stats to show how great #8 is, and then I will definitely counter it with stats to show #6 is better.

I'll hang up and listen for my answer...

Give me a boring and dull-ass QB that makes the right reads, weighs-out the risk-reward and plays smart over a "gunslinger" any day.

All Cutler has is his arm and that is it.

Bears had more rushes and yards in 1st quarter today than all of Thanksgiving game, no?

OK, when he plays more than one goddamn game I'll compile some stats for you.

There are at least 6 years of Cutler stats with the Bears so roll 'em out.

I said #8 is serviceable, not the second coming of Joe Montana.

What the fuck are you talking about?

Cutler's stats are bad and created in garbage time.

He's led the league in turnovers more than he has in TDs.

How's that?

Were you around for Lovie's last 3 years? The Bears went to the NFC title game and started the season 7-1 the last 2 years.

Edit: People still complained. When it comes to Cutler playing great is what matters.

I'm absolutely floored there are still Jay Cutler supporters out there. I was one for a long time, but finally saw the light.

Where does that put me?

Why was there no issue about the 4th down goal line play that Clausen was throwing to some guy wearing #62?

No mention that I heard on the broadcast. That was the play? Throw to a lineman-eligible?

Jeffery jump ball seemed like a good option.

That play was fucking dumb. Get 3 points and get out of there.

Trestman-esque.

Objection still stands.

Anti-Cutler fanatics are unbelievable.

If a person (correctly) points out that the defense and special teams and play calling still sucks, no matter who is QB, then they are die-hard Cutler supporters.
