So you think this 1-10 QB was pretty good and could have won if not for a couple key dropped passes?
Please, for the love of all that is holy, put down your meth pipe.
Clausen does not, repeat, does not give the Bears a better opportunity to win than Cutler. He's not going to manage the game better, partly because he's a terrible 1-10 QB but also because the game plan he's managing is a gigantic pile of horse flop to begin with. Clausen and his unfortunately pinched face does not have the arm strength, the experience, the speed or the intangibles that Cutler has. The one and only thing that he does have is not being Cutler. And once again, the oft proven saying is true again, that the most popular man in Chicago is the back up Bear QB. And as many popular local sayings go, it's really stupid.
Clausen was receiving the verbal blowjob from Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, partly because they couldn't get down to field level during the game to do it for real and partly because they are simpletons who specialize in finding one simple nugget that they can pound into the ground for 3.5 hours in lieu of actual thoughtful analysis because that might actually be hard. And some of you are eating lapping it up like you've not actually seen a football game before.

No. Clausen is not a winner. He's not really even close to a winner. I would be willing to wager that he never gets to a win number half that of his current loss number.

So let's just forget this now please.

Thanks,
Management

He didn't play appreciably worse than a guy under contract for 3/57. :|

I think he would actually be good with less responsibility. That would be awkward.

There is no fucking way in the world that Clausen could be better than Cutler under any system any given Sunday.
Course, chaos theory and all, he could have himself his career day at any time (and there's a very good chance today was that day) and look better for a moment but you want this weird bastard leading your team in a game with even a modicum of importance or urgency?

About as much as I want Cutler doing it.

Christ man this is exactly the kind of crap I'm talking about. PI calls, or non calls, dropped balls and shit like that happen in every game every damn week. You know who doesn't have comments like yours assigned to them? Good QB who are capable of overcoming them. You know who DOES get comments like that assigned to them? Lousy QB's who cannot overcome those events.

Good QB's don't lead the NFL in turnovers.

Clausen played to his pay level. He is a backup in a best case scenario.

If he plays like this next week,I have no problem with him as a backup next season.
To be fair, the guy hardly had any reps with the team last week. I was impressed how he surveys the field and seems to hit guys in the hands for the most part.

You're impressed by him doing something that every QB in the league should be able to do?

Cutler is always high with his passes at the beginning of the game. Clausen seems to have more accuracy and aware of his "safety valve". He also had a quick release. I bet the Cardinals wish they had him.

Oh my. Well, if this is something you value as a Bears fan, then the last 30 years were just for you man.

Might as well add "if you think McCown was better too..." to this thread.

Don't get me wrong. Cutler isn't the best quarterback in the NFL. But he's much, much better than McCown and Clausen.

You could think that, but you'd be wrong. Aikman is a dunderheaded silly nanny. And you know this.

Do you think Clausen could be a regular starter in the NFL YES OR NO

At what? Making a name off Elway? Dogshit coach perfect for a dogshit QB. Keep it.

Didn't think it was worth getting into all that nonsense but today holy shit man, I couldn't take it anymore. Ohhh... Clausen could have won if not for a dropped ball, if not for a bad call, if not, if not... boo hoo man. HE DIDN'T WIN and that's it. He didn't win despite the best defensive performance of the second half of the season, maybe of the whole season, and a ST that didn't actively fuck themselves right there on national television for the first time this season. Still didn't win. But blame the non pi call... derp.

It took the Lions constantly shooting themselves in the foot for Bears to score and stay close. The only good thing Clausen did was not equal the Lions in stupidity.

Why no win then? He could start anywhere? He's won one fucking NFL game dude, and he's not a rookie, he's 27 years fucking old.
