Why is it with Cutler apologists they can never say Cutler is to blame. It's always someone or something else. It's the play calling,it's the defense, it's the offensive line, it's the wide outs. It's never Jay's fault. The guy that makes the most money in the NFL this year is never to blame.

That's funny. The point of this thread was to get a the fans who were saying Clausen would have won, it wasn't his fault, it was the play calling, the dropped passes, the no call PI, the officials, it wasn't clausen's fault, he would have won! It's bullshit

You're wrong. You obviously had pre-conceived notions about Claussen coming in and were upset that those notions were wrong.

Almost everything you said there about arm strength, awareness and speed is wrong.

You think that Clausen has better arm strength, awareness and speed than Jay? :?

Incorrect and misleading even if it was right (since the original QB had Brandon Marshall)

There is no fucking way in the world that Clausen could be better than Cutler under any system any given Sunday.

Except he was yesterday as you nearly admit in your post

Course, chaos theory and all, he could have himself his career day at any time (and there's a very good chance today was that day) and look better for a moment but you want this weird bastard leading your team in a game with even a modicum of importance or urgency?

Dope, the point was that while anyone can have a career game and look like fucking Joe Montana for 60 minutes over the course of a season or career he's not even remotely as good as his competition. And yesterday, CLAUSEN WASN'T GOOD. What is so hard for everyone to get about that? I mean he wasn't really even average. He had what 250 yards and 2 td and a pick? WHoopie! a whopping 77 something rating? Wow. You're right lets get this guy starting IMMEDIATELY, he's FUCKING AWESOME. I mean, everyone here wants to blame Jay for everything and this game Clausen played was worse than just about every game that Jay started but obviously this cat is our FUTURE!

Hey, Clarence Darrow, it's not misleading. Are you trying to tell me that we can't compare stats or how they worked in the system because one receiver isn't there? So basically coming into the game we can't compare performances of these guys because Marshall wasn't there.

Nobody said he's the future.

He just looked as good if not better than Jay and that is eye opening.

It seems to me you dont like Claussen and Joe Buck and this thread is the result.

Yes, not having a guy who is a top 5 WR in the league and clearly the best player on the team matters a little bit.

If he looked better to you than Jay, you need your eyes checked. Because statistically, he was not better. Visually he wasn't better and if terms of outcomes he wasn't better. We're talking about a guy who had 250 yards dude. 250. WooWee! Oh my look at his eyes he went thru his progressions! Wow. I'm impressed. Impress me by winning the game.
The Lions did everything they could to give up that game, and to a competent team they lose with those stupid ST plays they fucked themselves with.

No he didn't look better than Jay. And people that think he was so great don't really seem to know what they're talking about.

We're talking about a guy who MIGHT be a decent backup. That's about it.

Ok, so we shouldn't even have this conversation because we obviously can't compare the games because one guy wasn't in it.

Yeah, it is. To say that you're impressed the game management and play of a guy with 250 yards and 2 td when one drive was 7 yards and the other was extended by a bad 4th down penalty is not being honest. You simply don't like jay and found ANYTHING else to be better.

This is the greatest satire of the Jay Cutler era ever. Well done.

Seems like you decided what Claussen was before the game and are clinging to that.

Cutler sucks. Most Bear fans realize this. You're in the minority if you dont think so.

No, you dont like Claussen and the announcing team so you just HAD to be on the other side cause Joe Buck and Troy Aikman are soooo dumb. And Claussen has a bad record

So he has to be bad.

Im gonna go ahead and file this type of response under "didn't get the concept".
Once again, this thread was not to defend Jay.
The point was the superlatives thrown at Clausen. He played a shit game. The Bears lost a winnable game. This dope came in and threw what by NFL standards was really quite below average a game. Still lost. And here we are, saying he's so much better than a starting pro bowl quarterback. He was amazing, all 2 of his scoring drives were just awesome.

I never saw Clausen play before today. I had no idea what to expect. My post was made after the game. Well after the game when I couldn't stand how everyone especially around here fell in love with a guy that played a very below average NFL game. It makes zero sense. Dude had a lousy game! He was worse than just about every terrible Jay game.

Are you referring to Jay Cutler as a pro bowl quarterback?

He was an alternate like 9 years ago

No, he wasnt. The mere fact that he had more TD's than INT's puts him in front of most of Jay's games.

Cutler is a bad quarterback. Claussen ran the offense better than Cutler has in recent weeks.

Right. Nothing to brag about. Let's not pretend Clausen was good yesterday, which was the original point.

This is true. It doesn't mean Claussen was good.

He ran a better offense than Cutler did against the Cowboys, Saints, and Lions. All blowout losses. The bar was not set very high.

Please, for the love of all that is holy, put down your meth pipe.
Clausen does not, repeat, does not give the Bears a better opportunity to win than Cutler. He's not going to manage the game better, partly because he's a terrible 1-10 QB but also because the game plan he's managing is a gigantic pile of horse flop to begin with. Clausen and his unfortunately pinched face does not have the arm strength, the experience, the speed or the intangibles that Cutler has. The one and only thing that he does have is not being Cutler. And once again, the oft proven saying is true again, that the most popular man in Chicago is the back up Bear QB. And as many popular local sayings go, it's really stupid.
Clausen was receiving the verbal blowjob from Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, partly because they couldn't get down to field level during the game to do it for real and partly because they are simpletons who specialize in finding one simple nugget that they can pound into the ground for 3.5 hours in lieu of actual thoughtful analysis because that might actually be hard. And some of you are eating lapping it up like you've not actually seen a football game before.

No. Clausen is not a winner. He's not really even close to a winner. I would be willing to wager that he never gets to a win number half that of his current loss number.

Thanks,

Claussen was clearly better than Cutler yesterday. He was around 30 of 39 if not for dropped passes. His touchdown throw to Jeffrey was a thing of beauty. He did not make mistakes, and even checked off into some decent run plays. Another play where he set himself apart from Culter was on a dropback play, might have been a screen to the left, where he pulled the ball down, turned around back to the right and ran for a 6 yard gain. Cutler would either have forced it or taken a sack. Lastly, the team as a whole played much more energized. Claussen gave good vibes. The crowd was behind him.
