Sorry, maybe I mumbled that... HE WAS WORSE THAN JUST ABOUT EVERY TERRIBLE JAY GAME

That is not factual.

IN which area was Claussen better than Jay? Which stat please leads you to say he was better? Looks to me like Jay's got him on QB rating, completion %, yards per, TD ratio... what was it that makes you think Claussen was better than Jay

Claussen was clearly better than Cutler yesterday. He was around 30 of 39 if not for dropped passes. His touchdown throw to Jeffrey was a thing of beauty. He did not make mistakes, and even checked off into some decent run plays. Another play where he set himself apart from Culter was on a dropback play, might have been a screen to the left, where he pulled the ball down, turned around back to the right and ran for a 6 yard gain. Cutler would either have forced it or taken a sack. Lastly, the team as a whole played much more energized. Claussen gave good vibes. The crowd was behind him.

In the real world, we don't count dropped passes as completions. The team played more "energized"? With the exception of a great 80 yard TD drive this offense didn't get shit done.

He played exactly the same game (77 rating) as the $68 million man did against the Lions earlier this season. Except he didn't have the best receiver on the team and he was playing behind a banged up line.

You compared Clausen to Cutler's terrible games. Not stats averaging for Cutler's entire season.

In the last 4 seasons alone (keep in mind Cutler didn't even have full seasons), he has had 14 games with a passer rating lower than 70. Clausen's rating was 77 yesterday.

Additionally, Detroit is the second best defense in the NFL. How many of Cutler's terrible games came against lesser defenses?

Clausen played within his skill and competed decently against a tough defense. He didn't make mistakes and his one interception was when he was playing from behind late in the game. Something a Cutler fan cannot criticize him for since Cutler's go-to play in the fourth quarter when down is to throw a pick, many times two picks.

Which statistic can we discuss that shows how much better Claussen was than Cutler this season?

Ok... I guess I have to say this again, but the original point of this thread had nothing to do with Cutler at all, it was about the superlatives and cock sucking going on for a guy who came in and played what was in truthful, objective analysis a below average, less than mediocre game. We can compare to Jay if you all really want to but like I said earlier, unless you're football stupid, you would rather have Jay than Jimmy every week. He gives you a better chance to win.

I get that you're sick of him and sick of the Bears but the reality is that Jay is the better QB.

And Jay is way ahead in terms of passer rating, YPA, YPC, TD%, Completion % and this is a well known DOWN year for this offense. I mean you look at just stats last year and they were great.
I will agree wholeheartedly that Jay's turnoverness was a problem this year. That's right. But he's a better QB in pretty much ever other metric than Jimmy.

We all know it.

The problem is, Actual Jay Cutler sucks balls

The most important ones?

So... you'd rather have a guy with a 40% completion ratio, 150 Yards a game, a 70 rating, but he just doesn't throw td?
SO... you're also saying Favre was an awful QB because he is the all time interception thrower?

Cutler had a top receiver, Claussen didnt. What if Marshall was there yesterday? Think a few more balls get caught?

Anyway, Cutler is not a winner. You're in love with the guy's name and potential. He's a shitty backup level QB at this point. He might be better than Claussen. Congrats. Yesterday Claussen looked better than Jay has in weeks

Yes, turnovers are the most important stat in football everyone knows that

Please dont start with the ridiculous Favre comparisons. Favre's TD-Int ratio was nothing like Cutler

What if games are silly. We don't play them.
And once again, for like the 100th time, I'm NOT SAYING CUTLER IS GREAT.
Can't someone say that Clausen wasn't good without saying that Cutler is Christ? Where are you getting that from? I never said it;

Trestman actually called running plays yesterday.
That didn't happen the first time they played the Lions.

Im just saying that because of the talk about him not checking out of certain plays (kromer) and not running the offense (teammates)

Remove Cutler from your thought process. Let's just look at the true facts of the situation.

1. A Loss
2. Two total scoring drives
3. 2-1 TD to INT Ratio
4. 181 passing yards
5. A 4.6 average
6. A 77 Rating

You remove names, previous performances, comparisons to anyone else, or any external factors, you look at those 6 stats and tell me that man played a good game?

Yeah, that's not at all the same.

Im saying the leaked words of the OC and players on the team might have a point about the QB.

That's not making excuses for anyone.

Yes, sometimes looking at stats instead of watching the game gives you a cloudy idea of what actually occured.

Most of those stats are not great (Although, the 2-1 TD-INT ratio is something the starter can only dream about)

Claussen looked decent and the offense looked better than in recent weeks.
