That didn't happen the first time they played the Lions.

Or Jay changed them.

Im just saying that because of the talk about him not checking out of certain plays (kromer) and not running the offense (teammates)

And yet you hate it when people dream up excuses for supporting Jay

Yeah, that's not at all the same.

Im saying the leaked words of the OC and players on the team might have a point about the QB.

That's not making excuses for anyone.

I have not read that Jay changed the play calls in the Detroit game, resulting in zero run game.
Have you? Or are you making up excuses to support Clausen over Jay?

Secondly, what exactly has been said about Claussen that you think is crazy? That he was decent yesterday? That he's a quality backup who could develop into a starter? That he avoided costly turnovers?

Claussen looked decent and the offense looked better than in recent weeks.

I put in the TD-INT for fairless sake. But no QB will win with 170 passing yards.

How can you say Clausen looked decent when he really accomplished basically nothing at all? Two damn scoring drives. Two dude.
How is that looking decent? It just isn't.
I will say that TD to Jeffry was just a lovely pass. Pretty. Great throw and congrats.
But he didn't really look impressive.

Question, would you want Clausen as your 16 game starter? Would you prefer him over Cutler?

There was a small story last week about the OC Kromer tearfully admitting to ripping Jay and saying "he's killing us by not checking out of run plays" to a reporter.

I didnt make it up.

Id prefer him over Cutler because he's just as effective at about 1/20th the cost.

We should be turning cartwheels because he only threw 1 INT on the last drive of the game when they were down 6. If you ask me, that's a really shitty time to turn the ball over. You didn't find that one to be costly?

You really think he's as effective as Cutler? That's completely silly. Which of his 1 career wins leads you to the conclusion that he's as effective as Cutler? Has every coach ever misunderstood the greatness that Clausen has?

Right. I can't say that someone throwing an interception on the last drive when down 6 is still not committing a costly turnover. To me, that is kind of exactly what a costly turnover IS. I bet most smart football fans probably know that.

Claussen looked like a serviceable backup.

Offense in recent weeks;

@Det; 269 yards, 17 points
vs Dal; 276 yards 28 points
(21 points and 258 yards in the 4th quarter garbage time)
vs NO; 278 yards, 15 points
(15 points and 103 yards in 4th quarter garbage time)

I ask again, could the offense have looked much worse than it had it recent weeks?

He didnt really have a chance. He was bad as a rookie and they got Cam Newton. Than he was a backup.

But yesterday he was as effective as Cutler has been

Cutler is bad. He's not good at all. He never will be. Once you realize this, you'll be better off.

You're right. That was one costly TO. There are usually multiples.

But Claussen and the offense looked as good as it has under Jay this year. That opinion wont change no matter how much you want it to.

The sad thing is I'm completely on board with Cutler being pretty bad this season. I wouldn't say his career stats are bad, but he's certainly had a bad year. I realize it fully. I also realize that I would much prefer bad Jay over Clausen any day of the week and hopefully twice on Sundays because bad Jay is still better than Clausen.

I don't know that he never will be.

I would not be surprised to see him go somewhere else and have success.

I just think he never really had a chance because of the QB situation.

Too bad Jay was so bad we lost out on a good NFL coach (Lovie)

I hope you guys can clear up which games Cutler was checking out of one bad running play to run a bad passing play.

Jay Cutler has performed badly many times this year.
Not as often as the defense, special teams and Trestman has, but he's been bad.

Let's fix the other things first.

It was going on all year. It has been clear to everyone that the Bears have been calling bad plays since midway through the 3rd quarter of the first Packers game.
