Did you say that whoever follows Trestman has clown shoes to fill?

A LOT.

Please...no.....NO to whatever deity we all look up to.
Let's get an actual, certifiable, licensed NFL coach up in this joint.
Please.

The Bears will fuck this up once more by hiring an unproven no-name.

Meanwhile the Pack has won the division again. Rinse, repeat.

I do NOT want a ST coach who got famous coaching the best ST return guy to play the game.

Do you?

I am not saying I really want Toub, but I think we could do a whole lot worse. He has done a pretty good job in KC as well.

I just do not really know who this actual certifiable NFL coach is?

The options do not really seem that appealing.

I'm not saying any of these guys are my #1, but wouldn't you take most of these guys over Toub??

Gruden
Holmgren
(maybe) Shanahan
Bowles (better than a ST coach who got lucky)

I could probably name more but I'm :drunken: right now on vacation

It's like Biggie said...who do the McCaskeys know around the league? Contact the people you're familiar with. That's why they hire from the same group of people.

Better not be Phil at the lectern tomorrow.

If it is a guy who has been a coach, then I am fairly certain it will be Shanny.

And you know what that means, it means Cutler is sticking around.

I have never liked Shanny. He was great with the Broncos when he had 3 HOFers.

He was awful in his other runs.

I think it will be Toub. I'm OK with that.

I'd like to see Schiano.

He had some success before weird stuff started happening with that team.

Plus, he's done nothing but research coaching philosophies to see what he could do better.

I'm up to try to find the next Carroll or Belichick.

Shanny won 2 Super Bowls. His teams with Plummer were always in contention. He flamed out with the Redskins, but who wouldn't with that owner? I cant think of anyone on the market that has a stronger resume. Harbaugh isn't coming.

No exaggeration....I'd have some pause for him taking over NIU.
That's a bad dude. Bears already have a bad situation. DO NOT NEED a king red ass my way/highway that has ZERO success anywhere else.

Well, that's just a bad thought then.

This is a guy who had tremendous success at Rutgers, taking over a lousy program, having a couple bad years and then winning like crazy...at fucking RUTGERS!

Then he went to a horrible Tampa team and won, people talking about him for coach of the year, then his QB went crazy. The team got ebola and everything went south. It was bad.

But, that's who you can get. A guy that's been in the league, knows he made mistakes and knows what he needs to do different.

They won't hire him but he's a guy sitting there waiting to be an above-average NFL coach.

Agreed.

Darkside should be the Bears next head coach.

RFDC wrote:

Forget about all this HC shit. We are all fools if we think this even fixes half the teams issues.

The Bears should bring in an actual NFL guy with lots of NFL connections as a consultant, let that person clean house hire fire and so on for a few seasons or whatever that person sees fit.

Someone like a Bill Parcells, or Polian ect ect.

Replacing the head coach and even the GM isn't going to cut it, you need to uproot all the fucking stupid out of this franchise by going all the way back to the highest powers making stupid decisions from the start. That means said consultant telling George McCaskey to go back to collecting ticket money at the gate, Virginia to pack her shit and go play bingo for the rest of her life and Ted Phillips to sign the checks this consultant hands him and not ask questions or he gets a foot in the ass too.

This team needs to be handed over to people that actually have proven they know football. Period.
