You know where a good organization finds its next exec? In the assistant exec office!

At the very least the day after you hire a GM/Coach, you should be creating a short list of guys you want to next fill the position. When I start a "Fire ____" thread the day a guy is hired it is a joke but also a realization that the guy will most likely be gone within five years.
