I switched this off to watch the Hawks. I blame myself. Time to focus on the Bulls.

But now we're getting back to normal somewhat.

I've seen CJ Watson hit that shot a million times. Thank god he only had 0.5s and had to rush it.

about halfway through the fourth quarter my dad was like "HEY THEY BLEW A 20PT LEAD AND NOW THEY'RE ABOUT TO BLOW IT TO THE PACERS" and i remember watching with about 5-6mins left when the score was stuck on 83-86 for awhile and as i prepped to go outside and have a cigarette i said "don't worry dad, the bulls got this. it's better for them that they face adversity now and blow some 20pt leads and have to hustle hard at the end of games to close out other teams, even if they let the game finish with a 15-34 4th quarter. you need to sort out who you're going to go to in crunch time and hit these buckets now, because all of this experience will pay dividends in the playoffs. grinding out a tryhard victory over a solid-to-good team in the regular season by 20+ points from coast to coast isn't going to mean anything other than another night in the office for these guys.

sure enough i humored the cousin's "i quit smoking.... so i can i just light up your cigarette and have a few drags off of the front end? .... * hands you back 1/3 cigarette at most * " girlfriend for a bit and my dad came outside for a smoke proclaiming "the bulls won" and i said "i told you when i walked out at 83-86 that the bulls had this! OH YE OF LITTLE FAITH!"

so i suppose that's a good sign that i've only formally been "back" into this team for 5-10 games and i've already got enough of a feel of them that i can put these proclamations out there and feel certain in my correctness, because holy shit jimmy butler stepping up and doing what he's doing all season = exactly what this bulls team needed. another 20+ PPG scorer that isn't derrick. now the bulls have 3ppl averaging 18ppg+ ? PERFECT. and with pau holy shit man, it's nice to have a legit 4 with a perfectly cromulent offensive game going on. just please don't explode on us, pau! please!

btw, jimmy butler was 8/20 from the field and 9/12 from the line for 27pts. don't make a habit of that senor buckets, because seriously when you start talking 8/20 from the field and 9/12 from the line you're venturing into d-rose territory, and i hope to god that your renaissance this year is more than a hotstreak that's going to come back into earth and require you to chuck up ~20 shots to get into the 20+ zone, however those 12 free throws tell me that he's starting to take his star calls so he can get to the line and pump up those stats into merch sales, so that's a very good sign in the development of jimmy butler. hopefully thibs let him know the 8/20 thing = problem for america. i'd much rather see like 7/16 or something hovering around 40-50% cuz 33-40% = post-MVP d-rose territory and seriously, we've got one of those. we need that mini-lebron/high-FG% scorer to really have a shot to make it out of a potentially slumbering east this year.
